The extreme audio is not a true X-Fi sound card, you'd be just as well off sticking with onboard, which is very good these days. If you want an actual sound card that takes the load off the cpu then the extreme audio is not the one.

You should try giving the onboard sound a serious test drive before deciding if you need something better. And besides, Vista/Win7 really cut the legs off the advantage of X-Fi for lots of older titles such as IL-2; this is my only regret with Win7.

I thought I read somewhere on these Forums here that some were having conflicts with on board sound and TS. But I will take your advice and try on board first.

Just a little frustrated. On second thoughts, I am really p***ed off about it. Tried the Realtek Audio Manager with zero success. So decided to get a Creative XFI titanium sound card. Still no bloody sound. Just waiting for one of my squad mates to pay a house call and sort it all out.

Yes, thanks Urufu. One of my mates from Croatia sorted the sound issues out on my computer using teamplayer. In each case it was driver issues. I now have my headset hooked to the sound card and on board turned off in bios.
