I have this case and it's pretty good. Lots of USB ports on front and back and it's HUGE with lots of room inside.Coolermaster Haf 932 case http://www.canadacomputers.com...6_111&item_id=019666
Also for what it's worth I've never had any problems with my Asus P6T mobo. Their website definitely sucks though and it was annoying trying to figure out what update files to download when I went from Vista to Windows 7.
YUP! Ya can't hold off forever waiting for the next big thing or the next price drop.Originally posted by blairgowrie:
6 months from now, I suspect someone will be posting something similar to your post jameson 2010There reaches a point where you have to fish or cut bait. Most of what I bought can be saved for a new mobo and chip if need be.
All I have used for all my builds ( plus my PC from Ibuypower ) have used Asus motherboards and I have never even had a hint of trouble with any of them. That's going back to 1999!! I stay loyal to what has been serving me well. EVGA, Nvidia, Corsair and Asus!! My P6T deluxe V2 is only about 14 months old and it rocks.
But Asus could test their latest bios revisions a bit more before they release them. Revision 1003 for my P6T gave me heartaches so I had to flash back to my older revision. Now it does everything right again.
Asus bios updates(and help forums) have always been terrible, one bios update even killed a board for me, thankfully the vendor knew the issue and I got my money back.
That being said I have used Asus for other builds for friends and even an older build for myself and had no problems, luck of the draw I guess.
blairgowrie, good choice with that Mushkin Redline 2x2G kit. I run that kit at 1730 with rated timings, 6-8-6-24 (7ns latency!!!), and have pushed it up to 1823 with 7-9-7-25 (i7 860 though). Plus even at those speeds they don't become glowing embers in my RAM slots (not using a RAM cooler either). I hope it works as well in AMD land, S!
Thanks The Family Man. Canada Computers were quite high on the Red Munshkin Ram so I followed their suggestion.
The 5970 did not work so they are holding a replacement which I will pick up on Wednesday. The rest of the computer has been assembled and ready to go minus the video card. That Coolermaster case is absolutely beautiful. The wires are all hidden behind the mobo. It is silent with great cooling.
Creative's PCI-Express X-Fi Audio soundcard is a penny under £70 over here, and would give you a pretty good result I reckon. (Even cheaper in the U.S I see)
The Asus Crosshair 3 (AMD-based) mobo comes with an add-on soundcard which has similar specs to the one above. I find it ideal for the game, TS and so on.
