I'm not supposed to tell you, but I've heard that their next Tom Clancy game is going to feature a boss battle with a futuristic attack helicopter coming from space. Can't wait...

Lol seriously, who puts "To be continued" after a VERY mediocre campaign? You know what it was supposed to say right? "Sorry we couldnt finish the game, you can pick up the DLC containing part 2 in a few months for $60 on a disc."

No one person is ultimately responsible for every decision in a game, so as such - it's not suitable to single out people however much you may dislike the game.
That and the fact your comment was also rather rude..
Do not post such comments again.
Ah yes...
Insult our intelligence, insult US all you want, try and tell us YOU ACTUALLY CARE. We KNOW you lie. It is what you corporate types DO.
But we have to be very careful about how we express OUR opinions of your company here. Fine. I accept that. It IS your company's forum after all, they own it, they -and you- define the rules. But for now you cannot censor what I say or think offline. I am sure people like your company are working hard to get the ability to do just that. After all, why make a decent game when you can make crap and lie about it to sell it?
You cannot hear what I say in real life about your company, its board members, its policies or its games. I know it steams people like certain CEOs of certain companies that shall remain nameless that they cannot mind control people to buy their garbage, but the next best thing is to lie to them, or keep them in the dark as to what they are actually selling. Who CARES if it is unethical? Ethics don't make any money, now do they?
Money is ALL that matters now. Not quality. Not courtesy. Not decency. Fine. Ban me, erase this post like I know you want to. You CANNOT stop me from telling EVERYONE I meet in real life what I feel about your company.
I acknowledge that my appreciation of the people at the head of the SCC teams has nothing in common with admiration. Personally though, I don't think that my comments were so insulting, unless they have a really thin skin. But since English is not my mother tongue and it is perfectly possible that what I perceive as an inoffensive prank can be interpreted as an offense, I'll try to be more careful in the future (if I'm not banned of course LOL).Originally posted by Mr_Shade:

Now I have to strongly disagree here.Originally posted by Mr_Shade:

I'm sorry, but in every organization, be it a company, a government, a charitable organization, or whatever, there are people at the top of a hierarchy who take the final decisions. Yes, there is a whole team of people behind those key people, and most of the ideas come from those people behind the scene, but ultimately, that's the leader who take the final decision. And the leader will be liable for a bad decision (unless he is the CEO and he can fire a subordinate to show his good will...).
It's so easy to hide behind ''the team'', but it doesn't work that way. Some people must be liable for decisions, whether those decisions are political, business, design choice, etc. If there is an example of a ''CEO'' that could not transfer the blame to another person, it's Rick Wagoner, the ex-boss of GM. Did the White House fire a GM engineer? Was the janitor asked to leave? Nope! It's the CEO who took the exit.
A game development team is no different from any other organization. The leaders of SCC's dev team took the final decisions, and moreover, they were also the ones advertising the game everywhere possible. You can be sure that if the game didn't meet sales expectations, some higher up inside Ubisoft - probably Yannis Mallat, if not Yves Guillemot himself - scheduled a meeting with the two people that can't be named here. The level designer #27 wasn't likely to be requested at this meeting.
As another example, when the producer of a game publicly claim such an ineptitude as ''Yes, optical camo and shoulder-mounted rocket launchers are currently deployed in the field, but we are not authorized to disclose our military sources'', it's rather hard to blame the sound engineer or the janitor for insulting our intelligence.
All of the above is just basic evidence, and if I'm losing my time explaining it here, it's because, once again, people's intelligence is insulted by Ubi's tradition of protecting and hiding the people in charge under the cover of ''the team''.
On a final note, I have two questions for you:
1) If I wrote ''Beland and Parizeau are two amazing game designers'', would you have come here and answered ''Wait a minute! It's a team work!''
2) Given that Ubisoft is under-performing on all aspects (technically, artistically, financially), would you fire 6,400 people (including you), or just the CEO?
Of course, those questions are just rhetorical...
Have a nice day!![]()
