Only two places I've ever heard they have picked up guns, was vietnam, because their guns where poopy getting dirt in and jamming, and iraq right now. Where british and american troops are somtimes found picking up ak47's which are very reliable. Can't say I blame them, saw them do a march once with those SA80's, and they fell apart.

    Just some general knowledge...

The only other legitimtae reason a soldier -- not a CT Operator -- Would pick up an enemy's weapon is to secure it if there is a heavy civilian population where the enemy is an integrated guerilla force, I.E. Iraq, and will scavange the weapon themselves unless they aren't secured.

Im voting yes but only if they can be boobly traped. I cant see any reason to not allow weapon pickups. I would like to see guns jammed too.

It seems like you all going against no pickups because older rs didnt have it.

If you need to pick up a weapon in order to get through the level, I can already see this isn't going to be a tactical shooter. Just another FPS game with a special ops theme.

If you want to pick up a weapon out of curiosity or during MultiPlayer, that's a differenet story.

About picking up weapons with a yes or no is too extreme for me, I cant just say either one nor can I say it about just weapons. For me I would say yes on certain things and no on others.

    'Yes'
picking up enemy weapons to secure them for no further use
    picking up friendly weapons
    picking up friendly spare magazines
picking up friendly tac aids, kits, and other equipment

    'No'
picking up enemy weapons to use
picking up enemy tac aids, kits, and other equipment

I am all for more realistic weapons features even if they are hurtful toward the player so long as they also happen to the AI like jamming or misfire. this would give for a more realistic feel that could be nice to have, but if anything like this were to be introduced it would be best as an option to start with.

    'explainations'
if R6 was to go with how SWAT did things where you have to secure weapons so that they are not used later on then R6 would also have to add surrendering AI or allowing AI to pick up dropped weapons and also not allowing for unlimited ammo. (this feature will not likely be seen anytime soon)

picking up friendly weapons can be an option if the game has jamming or misfires which would force the player to switch to secondary and either clear the jam or find a working weapon. All CT's make sure their gear is working to the max and so by picking up a teammates weapon the player is pretty sure that it wont be tampered with and is most likely in working order unless the jam is what got him dead hence test firing the weapon after pick up might be a smart thing to do. also each member should have some offical training on all the weapons offered to them to use on missions so each knows how to safely operate each others weapons.

if jamming isnt going to be introduced then picking up ammo off teammates should be allowed as I have seen many times the whole team but one or two go down and have to go thrrough almost their whole ammo supply. maybe adding an old ooption of recollecting of ammo between the partially used mags into one full one might be good, otherwise grabing teammates mags could be helpful and the same concerns as weapons and why not to worry apply here as well, test fire.

In a team planned mission ceratin people carry ceratin tacaids and you try to plan for men going down but cant accommadte for that all the time so either switching gear spots or resupply used spots back up from teamates equipment. so if a player uses 2 of 3 flashbangs and finds a teammate down that took flashbangs and didnt use all of them, the living one could take the unused ones and then use them.

players shouldnt be able to pick up enemy weapons, tac aids, or equipment for many of the reasons already mentioned. They could be booby trapped, the weapons might not be functioning to teh same specs as teh CT's weapons are, the CT might also not have enough training to use to the weapon if something were to go wrong.

Based on what we have been talking about I think it owuld be best for now to say no to picking up weapons and keeping it on the backburner for later as the introduction of this would need features not in the games yet. what should be added instead of this is the ground work like jamming and misfiring and other weapon issues that would help support the introduction of dropping ones weapon for another.

180 rounds of rifle ammunition for Raven Shield, per person. Alone against 40 terrorists. I never ran out even in my noob days.

In all of Clancy's books, did any single character pick up an enemy weapon "to try something new"?

How many additional lines of code would be required to code that feature?

There are only limited resources/time/energy on the part of the developers, why divert them to do an un-needed extraneous feature, when they can be used to make better AIs, and better maps?

its not that this is a must have but a could have. in the books no one really died either so you wouldnt have to worry about picking up deadmen gear.

yes i too never really ran out of ammo completely, but like in the rare cases would find my slef constantly reloading to get a few extra rounds after every firefight at the end of a map. I agree that the AI and general gamplay should be the more important thing, but adding or starting some of this to be built on after each game couldnt hurt really either

    Many people are too limited...
This is why servers play the same maps over and over again. When a map they are not 'used to' come on they simply say it is a bad map. Too many players say features that they are not used to are bad (such as people saying having more than one accessory on a weapon will 'unbalance' gameplay.......). Its like everyones opinions are affected so much by what the previous poster says (example: the person who said he would like picking up weapons bu they should be booby trapped...)

Basically if u can bring me a new feature that is realistic and does not allow players to completely dominate games, im all for it.

In real life you obviously would not know the state of an enemies weapon. A swat operative would not need to pick up a criminals mac eleven because he knows his is far more efficient. People (if they had time which they probbaly wouldnt) could lay weapons as booby traps (please dont search google for examples of people doing this in war, in a standard cqb situation, criminals are normally not expectating the assault). In single player mode, yes it would be unlikely for operatives with expensive eauipment to take cheap **** from tangos. In multiplayer mode however, there have been many times where i saw a sniper rifle laying on the floor and thought 'if only i could pick that up'. Lets remember, in multiplayer we are not playing skaggy terrorists (hopefully, pleeeeease dont make it merk v rainbow).

I am all for weapons being picked up. If having this in singleplayer is the sacrifice then so be it (i only play/complete sinlgeplayer to get used to the game). This will make multiplayer one bit more realistic. I suggest you people re-assess why exactly this would be a bad feature in this game...

Your just being closed minded. If We are playing operatives such as ourselves then the guns will be equally as efficient. I reckon your giving such a vague/reason lacking answer because your know so many more will post "NO"
