I disagree, I think Windows 7 will put Vista(any version) to an early grave.

Precisely....If Windows 7 takes off as expected, eventually all support for Vista and XP Pro (already announced) will be dropped eventually.

No prizes for guessing what OS the software companies will be aiming their games at in the future then.

Have just tried running the starforce update patch as admistrator, there are no drivers to update.......

Beginning to think it's time to give up til windows 7....
It would'nt be so bad if it just was'nt compatible, but having to not play just because of the stupid protection program.
I've always heard bad stuff about starforce but this is the first time it's ever effected me.

Windows 7 is simply Vista Mark II, or Vista Second Edition- take your pick. So far I have found little to recommend 7 over Vista. XP and W2000 are still tops!

Well i got fed up and finally decided to try SH4 with U-Boat expansion. Getting desperate there as i HATE SH4 with a passion and always have.
Takes me 2hrs to find the expansion and whan i finally get it all installed it goes through the intro and then to a black screen with with audio only. Seems it's stopped responding......
And the time after that and so on. This has never happened before, i expect Vista does'nt like that either.........

This is truly rediculous, since having Vista i have had to buy a new keyboard, Vista has it's own drivers but "does'nt like them" along with several games......

For every one thing i find it can do i find 5 it can't. It's truly great having an £875 upgrade and having a computer that "can" do anything but actually does very little.
And this is the "ultimate" version? Do the others even boot to start with??

You mean the fact that W7 is stable and has no problems playing games like SH3/4, but I guess that's not worth a recommendation.. There are many other new features included in W7 that are pretty cool.

I know a few people who are testing it, and they are 100% satisfied. In fact, they have already unistalled Vista, and probably flushed it down the toilet. I don't know a Vista user that is happy with it.

Thanks for the help with this i shall forever remember it

BUT now i have a new problem, this one i have never heard of before.
I have installed GWX3 Gold and SHcommander as usual and all is fine except for one curious thing.
I discovered it first off as i decided to do a little flak practice just to see it was all going ok and because you can never have enough flak practice. It's my flak guns, they work ok but it's taking 7-10mins for them to reload....
They do reload but very very slowly. I have done tests and tried the deck gun and no matter what i do in whatever type of game it's only the flak guns that are effected.

So, any ideas on that one??

P.S. I have it! Sabotaged on my first day....
All seems to be working now, i'm off to test the torpedos work
