I agree.. As if this administration could correct in 2 years what 8 years of bungling had wrought. Bear in mind that the last 4 years of the Clinton administration before it was rife with compromises to the GoP.. Not to mention that that wave of discontent was fueled by the relentless cacophony of noise 26/8 from the disgruntled conservatives who from day one had nothing but slander, derision and ill will for this administration.. even at the expense of the country. If president Obama winds up being a one term president, which while a possibility is still not a done deal.. we will see where this country is in 8 years.. After the party of NO and now the party of H@LL NO has it's way..Originally posted by M_Gunz:
Riding a wave of discontent made worse by stalling attempts at economic recovery and determined to make sure the next two years are even worse, the right wing has the nerve to call others arrogant!
Besides, dontcha know that Sarah "Shakespeare" Palin has replaced "Repudiate" with "Refudiate"? Let's see if she gets the ticket in 2012!

We need to get to work to undo the damage and build a better future for our descendants.
Of course, the automatic dismissals by the far left extremists will be many, and amusing, but the people were promised "Hope and Change", but they got the same old "spend your tax dollars for votes" BS.
Now, the people are realizing what true hope and change actually involve. They are smart enough to realize that there's no such thing as "free" stuff, and they're taking the first steps to making sure our descendants won't have to pay for our current comfort.
While the Dems and Obama were busy fear-mongering and declaring sections of the country "enemies" and putting veterans on watch lists, the people know that we need to work together to make this great country even better.
Contrast that with the Dems message of making a once great country great again sometime in the future.
They promise future generations prosperity by sacrificing future generations prosperity...
So while we made One Big A$$ Mistake America two years ago, we the People can recover, we can progress, we can move on and build an even greater future for ourselves and future generations.![]()

all the pontificating you going to see on this forum about what this election means is going to be just so much BS.
the real meaning of the election is simple.
the party in power during an economic downturn loses more seats in congress in off year elections than it normally would. it almost always loses some anyway even if theres no downturn.
ive seen it time and time again during my lifetime. its just the way things are.
but instead of hearing that simple fact, the usually tea party nut jobs (i.e. fox news), are going to go on and on about what the election really means, well at least what it means in their small bigoted anyway.
note: i have several good friends who identify themselves with the tea party. when i say nutjobs im not refering to the rank n file tea party people who are really well intentioned. im instead referring to the nutjobs, like im not a witch Connolly, etc.

Yay! The Right has the House majority!
Yay! The Left kept the Senate majority!
Now maybe both sides can hush up and get some work done. Or not, and stonewall each other until the next election.
As far as arrogance goes, it's become very clear to me that it's a common trait on either side.
It was voter disgust that gave the Democrats the majority of the House and Senate 2 years ago, and the same thing happens now, only swung the other way.
Is it enough to bring change to our government?
plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose
lol are you a politician? That sounds like the same sort of puke inducing twaddle we get spoonfed over here!Originally posted by JG52Uther:

Did one of your politicians really spend $140 million dollars to try and win?
Surely if she cared that much she could have given that money to the local poor... </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Ah, you forget the various posts from two years ago about The Chosen One and the Dems coming to power.![]()
Now, they try to gloss over the mistakes he and the Dems have made by continually claiming the mess was too big. Instead of "Man up", we get whining "They left a big mess!" and various lowered expectations. Because they decided to govern not with the will of the people, who they continually talk down to and instead enacted their ideological poo.
I've certainly noticed the sour grapes around here as it was clear the people were going to speak up and choose fiscal sanity, the question is whether they can overcome the statists who are hell bent on bankrupting the country. Obama and crew are ones to never let a crisis go to waste...![]()

I appreciate that. Extremists like you let me know I'm on the correct path.I also anticipated anti-intellectual dismissal rather than any kind of attempt at debate.

What I find puzzling is that America seems disappointed with both parties and yet as far as I know no independents have won anything.Originally posted by Rjel:
This election means just what the last one meant. People want real, positive change. These swings from ultra left to ultra right accomplish little. We need someone to lead this country back to a common middle ground where we have always been the most successful.
