Hey I need help...turns out it isn't working at all...when i resize it, you see the entire screen shot, and when i crop it, it is so tiny that you can STILL see the white background...it is so not working...

Try cropping it before you resize it. If you can select the area that you want as your image and copy it, then you can paste it into a new Paint document and crop it so that the white area is gone. Or you could even paste it into that same Paint document and crop it so you only see the image you want.
