After you upload it there should be a screen that has a few different links. You can't type in the areas where there are links. You can use your mouse to highlight the link and right click to choose the Copy option.

So you need to copy a link that would kind of look like this: http://i52.tinypic.com/jfvuyf.jpg

Then you can paste that in your Signature field in your profile. I think you might already know how to do that since you have a banner already though! Let us know if you need anymore help!
