...I made these tracks during offline campaigns and a coop mission in 4.08 and 4.09beta. Apparently some aircraft types are very resiliant to damage...

Interesting, the IL10 took at least three 30mm in the wing and is still flying more or less straight !

Not trying to compare a game with reality, but how many 30 were required to down an IL2/10 in reality?

PS Hi Rammjaeger, have you already tried the N1K2 or N1K1 ace in the QMB? These are sometimes hard to down too...Tough AC, excellent to warm up before an online sortie

Nice tracks and attacks, by the way

    Nice tracks, ty for sharing.

First one seems especially interesting to me, because I have a "feeling" that sometimes ac absorbs quite a lot of damage without any external clue (oil, fuelleak, smoke of any kind), only to suddenly explode when one of the next bullet hits.

Exactly. A title about such a post should be:"Planes in IL2 1946 that on one single instance when I fired to them, absorbed abnormal amount of damage."

If you want to state that these planes are generally hard to kill, then a lot more testing with consistently repeated results should be done.

Not trying to answer, but hey, don't compare IL2 1946 with reality.

Most of these shots appear to be from extended ranges greater than 400m (correct me if I'm wrong). I've noticed that just about any weapon used beyond 400m loses tons of hit power.

    You are right.

I would say some aircraft types in IL-2 are apparently more resiliant than the others (which is not to say that it is abnormal). P-51D and IL-10 are obvious examples.

No, haven't tried the Shiden in QMB or any other mission. AFAIK the only resiliant Japanese aircraft in the game is the H8K Emily.

With respect to the Mk-108 shells, I believe 2-3 direct hits should be enough to down any enemy aircraft.

Freak happenings come in all shapes. Here is a different one: single 0.50 cal burst disables Fw-190D engine:

Online I once put over 150 12,7mm bullets from P-51 in IL-10... and he didn't go down. He was crippled but no leaks or smoke...

Never ever experienced something quite like it before or after.
For this amount of bullets even B-29 goes down.

SB-2 bombers are IMPOSSIBLE to bring down offline. I can't count the number of 109E 4 or 7 cannon and MG loads that I have emptied into one of these things, only to watch it calmly fly back to base, only trailing some fuel, or MAYBE with an engine lightly damaged.
