Oh well, I've got a few other games here to try out now. Just tried Soldier of Fortune Payback and it is horrible. Well, maybe that's a bit harsh. It reminds me of Rainbow Six Lockdown or Vegas as far as graphics go. It has good depth perception and fair eye candy, but nothing glamorous. Maybe it's because I went to it AFTER Crysis is why I am so dissappointed in it. Most reviews of the game are terrible as well, but I think some of them are a bit too harsh on it.
Sounds are decent in this game. Weapons sound realistic. Limbs and heads come off the enemies a bit too easily to seem realistic. One shot to the thigh should NOT take a guys leg off in most cases. But it's a mindless FPS that provides some gorey entertainment for a few hours. Nothing to write home to Mom about though.
I'm installing Gears of War right now as I type this. HOPEFULLY it will be a good game. Most reviews of it are VERY good, so I'm crossing my fingers! I have no clue as to what it's about though? I think it's a team based third person shooter, so that can be a change for me, since I haven't played one of those since Freedom Fighters (WHICH I LOVED BTW).
I also have Call of Duty 4 sitting here on the desk, but I'm holding that one for last since I know it will be good and wrap me up in multiplayer for a good long while. If I started that one first then I would never get around to trying any of the others most likely.
I knew Crysis would be good, but I knew it would be short in a way. I plan on replaying again sometime (Hopefully with some cool mods), but the thrill of it is over (unfortunately). It WAS the best FPS game I have ever played. VERY system taxing though and I wasn't able to max my graphics out for it, so I will definitely give it another go when I have the hardware to be able to do that. Shame it ended so fast though. It feels like my pet just died or something since I finished it. I was just getting started to have fun and then THE END....WTF?!?!
Oh well, at least my graphics card is happy...![]()
The first patch will be out some day next week.
It will increase overall performance and adress some bugs.
Ive noticed just some minor bugs in the entire game :
- Sometimes your left hand disappears after you've modified a weapon. Hit c again and will be back.
- At some points in the game you cant make any modifications on your pistol/pistols, the C just wont bring the weapon in front of you. It will still work with all other weapons.
- Some small graphic glitches like textures dissappearing for a single second. Happened only two times to me through out the game lasted really just for a second
- Changing the render and texture quality settings can screw your night vision mode up.
You will only see unsharp green surfaces.
Only a restart of the game seems to fix this.
- When jumping or being blown aside by a explosion , it sometimes (very rarely) happens that you land IN a rock. You will then be able to freely walk through it without any collision.
Ive encountered no script triggering problems at all.
So really no A-class bugs in the game![]()
And dont worry, the CEO of Crytek said that Crysis was just the first game of a trilogy.
Anyone bought the collectors edition with Steelbookcase and Making Of DVD ?

I only noticed one bug where I jumped off a high cliff and was about to die when a cut-scene saved me somehow. The whole next left I had to play with broken crippled legs that stuck out in front of me! Nomad was basically sitting on his butt the whole level and still managed to run/scoot around faster than the enemy!Weird!
The VTOLs need some work as well. Using the mouse and keyboard is tedious to turn one around. They need to adjust mouse sensitivity or momentum speed for when you turn around in one of them. I kept crashing into mountains or getting suck up in those tornados just outside the sphere. Plus those enemy robots were impossible to shoot down in it just about. The only time I could hit one was when they were coming straight at me!
Oh, making of CD? Is there by chance a section about the motion capture process for the cutcenes at a company called "metricminds" in there?Originally posted by Celeon999:

And played at Delta level as well. Korean is a must. The end was highly frustrating, though. I hate when games pull this stuff. Nothing against a prequal, but I want a satisfying expirience, not left hanging in the air like that.
That aside, 1 of 2 best games in the shooter genre ever on my list, en par only with Bioshock.
