I am so frustrated. So i got the game. The first day I set up and did the test and setup a personalized workout (so I thought anyway).
Today, I logged on and choose my personalized workout (sleeve busting arms is an area I had chosen to work on).
I finished the workout, each set and then that was it... five minutes. Now what?
I assumed there would be another workout but it is just the same arm workout, again and again.
Am I finished for the day? Is there something else I should do? What do I do tomorrow? How often should I work out? How often do I do this arm workout?
How is this a personalized workout? I just can't figure it out and I am about ready to throw it out the window. What am I doing wrong?
How do I set up a personalized workout? I want to know what I need to do each day? What am I missing?

I am also doing the Sleeve Busting Arm workout. Today is the day I finish my last session.
This is how I am using the game:
I would recommend warming up with some Gym games.
Then get into your arm workout. The game only gives you credit for 1 10 min session every day. If you do more than one (which you can do, I like to do two in a row sometimes) the progress bar will not change. It counts only 1 session each 24 hours.
After the arm workout I like to do a Bollywood class or a Cardio Kickboxing class to end my workout.
I was trying to do this every day but I was too sore. So now I do it every other day to give my body 1 day to rest.
Today I am finishing up my Sleeve Busting Arm workout and starting my New Year New You routine.
Wow, 500 calories a day?! That is beast.Originally posted by SIRJACKHAMMER:
Ditto. I aim for 500 calories per day and just try to vary my workouts during the week.I am lucky if I get over 100. I would love to get 500 calories a day. My goal of getting all the achievements would go along a lot faster.

Yeah, I think the consensus is that the Personal Trainer section is confusing. The part in YSFE that changes in the cardio/toning/sculpting because it will have new exercises each time you take a class, or at least it rotates them. What they don't point out is A) you can do as many as you feel up to and B) at some point the system will probably recommend you switch to a different routine.
If you go in to "Try Something Different" and scroll through, you'll see what YSFE recommends. If you pick a routine like the arm workout then they expect you to do one a day for 12 days. If you pick cardio/toning/sculpting then it won't interfere with your arm program and you can do as much as you like.
Setting a calorie or time goal is really the part that you have to come up with on your own. Good luck! You will feel it if you give it a shot. I'm sore every day and in all kinds of places.
The game is poor at designing a workout program for you. You are pretty much on your own.
The not so funny thing is if you do it every day and vary your workouts (just as it suggests to do in one of the onscreen tips I must add), the game resets your progress for doing so.
I don't have much training experience but I do know enough that you don't do 12 consecutive days of Sleeve Busting weight workouts...your muscles need to rest a couple days or you are actually setting yourself back.
Having recently got EASPORTS Active I must say it does a MUCH better job of taking you through a 9 week program - and is still customizable if you so choose.
I am now just using YS as a warmup (300-400 cals burned) to a real intense workout provided by Active.
Active promotes rest days, warmups, cooldowns, accounts for the weights you are using, and even has nutritional tracking and allows you to put in other activities you are doing.
Plus, it doesn't constantly tell you that you are out of rythm or need to spread your legs wider when you are already practically doing the splits.
YS really needs a patch and the fact that the dev team has been completely silent about even working on one is not good especially when they have no problem pumping out consumer pay DLC.
I've also started using EA Sports Active 2 and as a result have cut my daily use of YSFE in half. I like Active 2 for many of the reasons you mentioned. But I still very much enjoy YSFE. To me it's much more fun. I get a sense of joy out of the YSFE workouts that I don't get from Active 2. And after spending some time reading the EA forums it's clear that Active 2 is no workout Holy Grail. It has just as many, though different, problems. I'm sure there are many people who will prefer one over the other. They are very different products.

Yeah Nano, I hear ya.
I too still enjoy YSFE and will continue to use it despite some glaring issues.
I would be remiss in not saying that EA Active also doesn't have a few issues also.
Take the best from each and I think I'm on track for a better me. I may even add Biggest Loser in a couple months as I've heard a few good (and bad) things about that program also.
