I decided to go back to the Nice and Easy workout program because I remembered some oddities. Now that I have gained confidence in the way YSFE, the Kinect sensor work and my ability to do the exercises, I wanted to evaluate it again. I am able to get high 90% to 100% on all the exercises in this program, but I do it by NOT listening to the trainer voice. So many of the comments are completely wrong, or at least inappropriate. Here are some examples: 1) During the Z- Step the voice says, “Arms should be lower.” When, in fact, I am not moving my arms high enough. When I start moving my arms higher the proper green dots light up and I get a better percentage for the exercise. 2) If I get out of rhythm the trainer voice often say, “That’s it!”, “Way to Go!” or some there cheerful praise instead of “You’re out of rhythm.” 3) I’ve already mentioned in another post that the trainer will say “Lunges should to be lower.” And when I ignore her and continue without making any changes I receive 100% for the side to side lunges. What I do is keep an eye on the green dots, if they disagree with what the trainer voice is saying, I ignore the voice.

The unfortunate thing about this particular program is that it’s often the first one newcomers to YSFE try. No wonder they get frustrated!

Another problem with this program is that if you do get out of rhythm the beat completely drops out of the music! What up with that? How is one to pick up the rhythm again with no beat? I’ve noticed this problem with the music in other programs and classes as well. The music should be there to help; it shouldn’t drop off when needed most.

It is my hope that these observations will help other users and will be passed on to those who can fix the problems.
