Is there a way to max out your sound config.ini file? I'm willing to test it out on my rig- with hillbilly perfect settings (perfect but no hardware shaders, reduced detail on objects, increased vis etc) I get great averages online, so whats a way to twist up the sound so to speak?

    regards
p.s. all I could find were posts from 2003-2004 in the search engine..surely someone has messed with this since Hunter82 left us...

    Me thinks IL2Setup:
    - Channels to 32
    - 3DEngine mode to Full
    - Sampling rate to 44000
    - Audio enhancements and hardware acceleration checked.

Wouldn't know of any other way!
(Results may/will depend on your soundcard!)

    Have Fun!

I remember we used to test the sound section in the config. ini to reduce lag, but also found out how to make the engine sounds quite a bit more believeable at the cost of cpu cycles- dam if I can find any of those posts...

That is correct. There are various other soundsettings that are automatically set, depending on your soundcard or soundchip. AFAIK you can modify some of them, but most of the settings are tested when the game starts (EAX-settings, for example). Dunno if you really can change these.

Hm, sorry. Yes, the same page is available in English, too. I'll try to look that up.

    You're welcome.

There are some details missing, compared to the German link. (i.e. you have to set TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1 when you use exMipFilter=2 or the ability to set Forest=3)

But I think it's a quite nice source of information.
