Now that we are talking about equipment ...

I fell in love with this one..

Until now we used the u.s made m109 Paladin but now they getting replaced by this new Panzerhaubitze 2000

Remember those Panzerhaubitze Elefant from WW2 ?

    (photos not made by me)

It has the 155mm standard for this weapon type but they make experiements with a new type of ammunition with it.

Its able to destroy every tank type in the world with just one hit.

So who wants to buy some ?

    Ah yes, the Mangusta.
Thanks again for the pic Celeon999. I wish I had something to put up for you.

I dont think that barrel on that gun is long enough.

They make guided munitions you can shoot out of an artillery. I dont know what countries make them but the US used to have one called the "copperhead"...named after a snake.

That looks like a TOW2 on the Marder Midget. If so that can take out any tank. Very nice concept but how many missles does it hold. I used to be a Tow/.50 cal gunner in the US army and can understand how hard it would be to recognize or see that little thing.

    Actually it isnt the Mangusta

    Thats the Tiger from Eurocopter.

    Attack Helicopter Tiger

That on those two pics was the prototype.

I saw the one of series model perform an flight show here in Berlin-Schönefeld at the ILA (Internationale Luftfahrt Ausstellung)

They made incredible stunts with this thing.

I didnt know that an helicopter is able to perform a full looping ! Or an Immelmann,

(and i dont mean an reverse immelmann) It was even flying overhead for a few seconds

Its actually an anti tank platform and an mobile artillery.

The gun will be aimed direct at the enemy tank.
But it heard also things about guided grenades.

I heard from a friend that they tested the gun on an old T-72 ripping the tower from it and threw it about 25 meters through the air

Yes quite possible that it is an TOW2. But i dont know how many missiles it can carry.

They are also used as recon vehicles. The engine is astounding quiet

And he what about this ?

Our version of the Landwarrior system

Imagine you are in a trench , getting bored.

Then you switch on you little TFT that comes with IDZ and play SH-3

    FELDWEBEL : "ENEMY APPROACHING !"

    YOU : "WHERE ?"

YOU : "**** WEATHER ! I CANT SEE ANYTHING THROUGH THAT PERISCOPE !"

    FELDWEBEL : "PERISCOPE ???"
