At the next ILA 2006 this new giant passenger plane from airbus makes an flight show here. (What was his d@mn number ?? )
There also many historical airplanes from WW1 and ww2 performing flight shows there.

Aside of these the secret weapon projects of the third Reich had blown all dimensions.
The projects in work included :

9. Vertical starting jet fighters (see Bachem Ba 349)
10. radar guided anti aircraft missiles (see Rheintochter 1 or project "Wasserfall" )
11. Air independend propulsion systems for u-boats
12. improved homing torpedos and rocket launchers for u-boats
13. remote controlled anti tank robot bombs and weapon platforms (see project "Goliath")
14. nuclear technology (civil and military)
15. chemical weapon research on nerve agents that resulted in the creation of Sarin, Tabun and Soman.
This should be mentioned in special because the allied intelligence had no clue of the existence of nerve gases till they conquered the production facilitys at the end of the war.
If you now remember the idea Winston Churchill once had to retaliate V2 attacks on London with mustard gas attacks on Berlin..... you can imagine what the answer would had been like.
And if you compare mustard gas with Sarin ....
Luckily this never happended because 500.000 grenades and 100.000 bombs were found in underground production facilitys.

Most of these projects were pursued in gigantic underground facilitys that still exist today.
One of them is build into a mountain and has 24 kilometers of street and railway systems, aswell as an own power plant. It is used as an storage facility today.
I saw a documentary about those secret underground facilitys in which an tv team visited all of them (about 20 across germany) all part of the insane plan to bring germany entire war industry under the earth were it is unreachable even for a-bombs.

A strange combination i know but i love this movie and didnt want to order it seperately.

There was an survivor interviewed that was an slave worker participating in building the Me 262 facility.

In the next years he and thousands of others were working day and night to make half of the entire mountain hollow.
The facility was to 90 % complete at the end of the war.
And all these facilitys , finished or unfinished are still there today. Ha ! Logically ! How could they disappear ?
