I think it's RDRD. It was during a photo recon and something about needing targets to lock on, so they put some sunken ships there to lock on so you can complete the mission.
Guess I've never seen it, because this is the first photo mission I've had in RSRD. Unless you stay in old boats, you just don't get many.
It’s not RSRDC, there are no Photo Recon missions added or changed by RSRDC. TMO has my Photo Recon fix incorporated in it. I didn’t put any sunken ships in. You can’t lock on a sunken ship, so there was no point in adding them.Originally posted by MWolfe1963:

My previous light hearted post was not completely in jest. You may be running only TMO and RSRDC at the moment, but those shark teeth had to come from somewhere. You also mentioned you have some pages in your Recognition Manual that show as “tga target not found”. I just ran up TMO with RSRDC and the Recognition Manual has no such “blank” pages. My first thought is that you have a FUBAR names.cfg file.
I think you have some remnants from a MOD you tried that were not removed by JSGME. Try disabling all your MODs and run the “Compare game files to snapshot” utility to see what anomalies you find.
Dave
When you first install JSGME and have no MODs installed, look at the center section of JSGME and select “Tasks”. Then select “Create game snapshot. It will take a file snapshot of your stock game files. You can then run it to make sure you have not corrupted your files by incomplete MOD enabling and disabling.
Of course you would find all that in the readme, but nobody but me reads those.

But who needs to read a manual for such a simple program like JSGME?Never noticed that feature!
And so embarrassed he goes back to his little corner...![]()
Now you have me wondering dgray. Someone at Subsim told me they were sunken ships to lock on in photo missions and others agreed.
The shark teeth...just a killflag skin that I was trying, but I've used those since I've played and never noticed anything.
I thought it was TMO, the blank pages. I thought Ducimas said something about them. So would like to know if anyone using TMO1.7 and RSRD see two blank pages as target1 and target2in the id book.
Mods loaded are
TMO 1.7
max optics for 1.7 and patches
RSRD..with current patches
And change skins with each new boat.
The last time I loaded TMO1.7 was over a fresh install.
Here is how the recognition manual works.
A ship folder is listed is in the names.cfg. file and is followed by a name for that ship. For example CAMogami=Mogami Heavy Cruiser. The game then looks for that folder and copies the information and .dds files and creates a rec manual page. The ship name would show as “Mogami Heavy Cruiser” and it would also be identified as such by the position keeper and the sinking log. The information is in the ship’s cfg and the ship’s folder in the sea folder.
Your game may be looking for a non-existent folder and can’t find it so it calls it target 1 or whatever.
Try comparing the names.cfg list with your Sea Folder contents.

Thanks, I'll take a look.
The only thing I can think of is I may have tried the newest real env with #4 warships retextured, but then stopped using it. I also ran both in TMO beta, but not really sure if it worked with 1.7 final.
I'll take a look and thanks for all your help. Obvious something is wrong.
Found the Sea folder with the ships listed.
Targets 1&2 were listed last with the following info. Where is the names.cfg to be found? I did find the same targets in the RSRD mod and TMO. May be a dumb or invalid question, but why would I have these targets in my data file of the stock game. I thought mods just overwrote files, not place them in your SH4 dir. Also found them in TMO1.7 data/roster/env/sea as targets1&2
ClassName=Target1
UnitType=102
MaxSpeed=0
Length=2.82
Width=2.82
Mast=4.5

Length=24.7
Width=6.6
Mast=5

I look at the data/roster/env/sea in the beta TMO and find this listed. Both beta and final have the dolphin then these two listed after, except the beta shows them as unidentified and final as targets. Make any sense...any fix without reloading a fresh install. Not sure what to do if they're listed as target 1&2 in TMO, unless somehow that's corrupted. My thought was TMO placed these there as targets and RSRD did also to work with TMO or vice versa....but as you say that's not right, so have no clue about these things. Guess I had better DL TMO and RSRD again and do a clean install as one seems to place the files in all.
