Will my old Sidewinder 2 be ok for this or should I get something more complex. I'm getting this game this weekend, and may do the special with a free lock-on.

If you're happy with that stick and it's in good condition it should be fine.

If you're looking to upgarde, consider a HOTAS set up. Value for money I would choose the:

    X-45

For a bit more money consider:

X-52 (it has a twist handle rudder)
    Saitek: http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/joysticks.htm

For a lot more money many swear by:

    CH Products: http://www.chproducts.com/

You can use the X-45 throttle quadrant with your stick. Check any of Bearcat 99's post for more info on setting this up.

    Hope this helps.

(and BTW, welcome to the forums)

I have the CH Fighterstick USB. While pricey, I can say without hesitation that it is the best stick I have ever owned by far. I can't say enough good things about it and it has definately made my game more enjoyable.

(Thanks again to sparx for finally convincing me to buy one)

MS Force Feedback 2 if you can find a good one. I scored one from the UK still very good condition and CHEAP, and a mate scored one from the USA again VERY CHEAP and in mint contion.

When I say cheap under $50USD.

Shop around though, I think I paid 95.00 USD for mine but can't remember where I ordered it from.

I just ordered a CH fighterstick, pro throttle and pro pedals for $297 from www.provantage.com

That's including shipping. And that's one helluva deal. It was a tossup between thsee and a Cougar with pro pedals and I decided on CH.

But %297 is an awesome deal when you can get them directly from CH for $450.

Your stick will do...but a HOTAS will do better.
