Sorry if you tried to access the last one. I have asked my friend to put it on his site in zip format.

Hope you enjoy my first movie and let me know what you think; good and especially the critical.

    Cheers

    Excellent snatchio!

Well worth the download. And for a first movie, you really seem to have got a good grasp of the techniques.

Where it is a bit rough around the edges, you certainly make up for it with the originality.

Including real people is very unusual and adds a great deal of human interest (the last movie I saw with very good inclusion of real people is 'the Entertainer' by LeLv30_Apina).

Not much too critisize, but seeing as you ask...

There were a few jerky mouse pans which is a big no-no.

Good to see you adding camera shake, this improved some shots but the 'shake' wasn't quite right.

The quality of the picture was a bit low in places. Was this because you fed the signal into your camcorder? I guess the benefit of that is you get to use high quality settings in-game and keep a good frame rate. Though consider using FRAPS to capture directly from the screen.

It has often been said that using real sound effects as opposed to the in-game effects makes a huge difference. This is true, but takes a lot more effort! I haven't really tried this very much either

All in all, an enjoyable flick, and a lot of original ideas. Hope to see more

Thanks Lt Spit, for your kind words and the animated smileys!

Thanks Joe-90 for your views. I very much appreciate them, especially with your level of detail. Incidentally, I had a meeting and lunch with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries this morning (the former makers of the Zero fighter). They were telling us how your fellow countryman Sir Thomas Glover was a catalyst to industrialisation of Japan and the Mitsubishi Industrial Group. I thought that the Zero having Scottish blood might be of interest to you judging from your website's Scotland/fighter plane theme.

    Hello Sachio,

absolutely loved this movie. An IL2 movie with a difference.
I'm no movie maker so I can't comment on the technical side of things, but out of pure enjoyment I rate it highly.
Great to see a proud dad having fun with his kids.

    Well done mate.

Ta. Scots are very familiar with Zero's, especially when the National football team is involved (I wouldn't, of course, like to mention the latest 6 nations rugby score against England.

Yup, really liked this snatchio. Very good blue/green screening... matching angles, etc. Very original story as well .

I don't have much time right now so I can't 'critique', but please keep making IL2 films, you've definitely got a knack for the different .

Being Japanese, we never have any rugby scores to mention (or Rugby World Cup venue choice).

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. It's interesting to hear that it made LtSpit cry at the end, because orginally I did a storyboard as a tragedy. I was watching an old IL2 movie called 'Four Horsemen', and I thought "wouldn't it be really tragic if the rescuing fighter didn't make it in time". Then the story developed from there. The only reason I turned it into a tragi-comedy is so that my children won't be traumatised (plus much protest from my wife).
