Hi Folks. I recently noticed a flight sim going cheap[$19.95 Aus]called European Air War[Micropose]which must be a few years old ,because its Op system was Windows 98, would anyone know if this sim would run on Windows XP,I hope so because the screenshots look very good?........Cheers

There's a forum here, which i'd browse for answers. I'm sure somebody's made it work for XP, but it may require some fiddling. It's supposed to be a classic sim. Check on ebay for copies, you may be able to pick up one for a few dollars.

Haven't played EAW for a long, long time. Looks a bit dated now but is reputedly the game that inspired IL2. Here's a site (just checked it's still up) that has all sorts of enhancements and extra stuff including the community made 'Desert Air War' Med conversion.

there was TWO different releases of EAW.....

(i MAY have them mixed up!)

MICROPROSE, is the CD that CAN be installed directly to XP o.s., and not have a hitch!

infrogrames version..wont work on XP, or its VERY hard to do....or you can install it an "easy" way (sort of)

install that version onto a computer with windwos 98(see there WAS a need to keep that around) then COPY the entire installed folder, of the 98 OS and install that directly to the same spot in XP.... game will run.

You have to run the patch right away to make it work and also use a glide wrapper.
I'm not sure if you have to but, I do.
I think you have to use compatiblety mode for 98 also.
