no, unless you buy it as part of The Orange Box (has Half-Life 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2). You can buy it individually using Steam from valve (steam is free to download), which you'll need in order to run it anyway. Also, yeah, your computer can most likely handle it. The game is really short for various reason far to complicated to go into right now, and if your computer is from 2003 or newer, then it'll be fine.

And what exactly is wrong with being random? We're not doing anyone any harm. And being random is fuuuuuunnn!!!! You can have serious discussions if you want, but don't insult other people for being random. They can be if they want to. This is one of the reasons it is a family forum. So kids can post their opinions. And we're NOT worthless. Being random is our way of expressing our opinions in a fun matter. if you want to be serious, feel free, just don't insult us.

    Phew. Heh heh. Long rant...

I was pretty sure that I saw a standalone retail copy of Portal at GameStop once, but I may be mistaken.

You can also get it for the PS3 or Xbox 360, though that's not advisable.

@SuperlolPwnz: ...um, in that case, no, I don't think it can. I think the RAM needed is 4900 mb or something like that. And it has better graphics than R3. Sorry

4900 ? Unless you mean 490, that is certainly wrong.

Portal is quite an "old computer friendly" game. You can run it in machines as old as 5 year old, as long as you have a half decent gfx card (GeForce Ti 4200 or higher). Of course, with such a setup you will not get full detail.

Anyway, what does this have to do with the OP's post?
