So my X52 stick is dying a slow and rather tedious death (the creaking OH GOD THE CREAKING), and I need to replace it with something that is more or less equal to it. Throttle still works fine, so I guess I don't really need a full HOTAS, just a stick.

Was looking at the Saitek Cyborg X, but there seems to be a lack of reviews for it.
Anyone have a clue about the durability/quality of that stick? Or else suggest me something in the same price range?

ANY CH stick will last forever and stay accurate and crisp. It's pricier than its Saitek counterparts but more reliable.

Had mine for over 8 years of regular use and they're still just as good as new. In terms of cost per hour of use, I'm well into fractions of a penny by now.

    cheers

I have a Saitek Cyborg Force stick I have been using for the past 8yrs. V. happy with it.

The Cyborg X appears to be a rrreally good stick and throttle combo.(PC Pilot recommended). Fancy it myself.

Both the Saitek and CH sticks have really weak and floppy springs ...I recommend a Logitech Extreme 3d Pro ,bad rep but GREAT spring, hand grip ,throttle , buttons etc etc -if it fails bring it back or buy another !Ive tried most of the rest including top of the range stuff...Anybody got feedback on the new Logitech G940s?Actually quick google suggests super floppy too...I saw today that Logitech are doing the Extreme 3d pro in a new coloured box after all these years !

Can't recommend CH stuff too highly. Been using it for years. Still all works like it was new.

The CH sticks are superb, they will stay as good as the day you bought them for many, many, years.

The stick forces are not weak and floppy.

They are LIGHT which means you can be super accurate with any inputs, you do not develop lop-sided arm muscles and you can actually use them comfortably for many hours.

I find most sticks are just a matter of preference for the set up you have. If a stick is too light, or floppy, then you can always pop a stronger spring inside, or even use a spacer with the current spring you have.

Yep, same here. 6 years old, everything works fine, no spring to worry about. And there's something very, very satisfying about flying a P51 or 190Dora with a force feedback stick.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I know if I want great quality I should go for something like CH, but it's just to keep me going for the moment. Should have more funds available to go for a complete CH setup in a while. So I guess the cyborg should last until then.

    Thanks again!

Saitek is fine if you don't rest your arm weight on the stick.. much. I had a friend teach me to fly maneuvers with just a finger and thumb to teach better control and flying. When I do a mission I hold the stick lighter because of that. Worst I can do is elbow on the table and hamfist on the stick.
But in time the Saitek will wear out (while the CH can be fixed) -- save the sucker, you might be able to make a set of USB pedals that has its own throttle quadrant, wouldn't that be cool?
