Brightlings jungle base was still a building complex, granted they did take some tangos down as they moved from the runway towards the buildings, which they eventually destroyed after the hostile forces surrendered. The skills used in engaging the enemy above, are what the Rainbow troopers possessed, with the exception of Noonan and his DKL tracking system, from their past army training before being recruited by Rainbow.

I believe that this is not one of Tom Clancy's works.

Agreed, but I'm referring to the original and realistic vision of Rainbow, as depicted in Tom Clancy's book. If a new threat emerged then chances are that a new team would be formed that was trained specifically to specialise and deal with this new threat.

It would be highly unlikely that the military would employ 'jack of all trades' when they could use 'masters of one'. This is evident when you look at Rainbow's training in the kill house, they are trying to shave seconds off the time it takes to assault the building. This takes a lot of constant dedication and practice. There is no way it would be room storming on a Monday, Jungle covert techniques on a Tuesday, etc, etc.

Regarding the attack on the missle silo, that occured in the Bear and the Dragon.

I agree with your post to a point. Mainly that specialized groups would be used for high priority problems. The issue of location of said specialized group has the potential to lead to them not being used. Primarily due to being tied up in a different theater/operation or not being able to access a region fast enough.
