An absolutely amazing discovery in Arkansas, USA. Long thought to be extinct, and not seen for over 60 years, the Ivory Billed Wood****** has been officially rediscovered in the Big Woods swamp/forest of southeastern Arkansas.

It's been all over the news.

I've seen stuffed 100 year old specimens at the Smithsonian. Never thought I'd see a photo or movie of one.

That is great news! Now all they have to do is find a living specimen of the Tyrannosaurus rex!

Thats a great story SkyChimp. As a teen I used to canoe many of the rivers in the Ozark Sceanic Riverways with my sister and brother-inlaw.

We often floated or hiked many miles along the Cache, Black and St.Francis rivers. Even in the late 70's and early 80's there were stories there told by locals. Unfortunatly for Scientist seeking real evidence a lot of the same people who told stories about the Ivory Bill also had stories of Swamp Apes or MoMo the monster and therefore were given little or no credit.

Its awesome that there are still enough to maintain a viable breeding population despite modern times best efforts to snuff them out. It would be a real treat to return there someday and see them with my own eys.
