Who was the sick puppy responsible for inserting the faux Band of Brothers theme tune into the Chicago Town pizza advert? What the fneb is it supposed to do? Give me an aspiration to become an airborne soldier? Associate frozen food with a heroic story? Mad isn't the word here - I'm furious. Am I over-reacting to the efforts of those stirling folk in the advertising industry that spearhead our consumerism? Or does anyone else think that they're p*ssing all over the memory of a fine body of men, so well honoured in the HBO series?

    Band of Brothers theme tune
Hi L_F, do you mean this one?

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Ist_n2y_t2M

Well, until you drew my attention to it, I must say it had not sent any untoward feelings of anything really...

And now I know, I still don't think, or care what music they choose to put with their Pizza adverts...

Band of Brothers was an American series about, surprise surprise, Americans...

Pizza's and American theme tunes come way way down my list of things to get my blood up, way down...

The very one, Archie - you realise that this is the thin edge of the (no doubt deep-pan-crispy-crusted) wedge, don't you? Since my original post, I have been subjected to a 2d felt cow on a motor cycle jumping fences to the sound of the Great Escape theme (I'm not kidding). Well I just said to myself "Let's go out and by some Anchor butter!" after that - well the exact phrase had a word that rhymed with anchor in it, anyway.

Where's it going to end? A Red Bull Whirlwind? Stand up now before that day - which will surely come if enough good men stay silent and allow evil to triumph.

One of the things I have ALWAYS HATED about adverts is how they take good music from their original meanings then use it to try and sell their crappy product that has nothing to do with it what so ever. It`s especially annoying when they use music that reminds me of special times like when I was a kid.

Last thing I want is to be humming my fave music to an advert and not what it was originally intended for.

It`s a kind of subtle brainwashing that many don`t see.

I mute the TV Advert every time I see this happening.

The Band of Brothers soundtrack is a particularly good piece of music (I have it) that should not be in a stupid commercial ad.

Yeah, I hate that too!! like when they used that old classic Led Zeppelin song and used it for a Cadillac commercial. Ruined that song for me!!

Just as long as you haven't sold out and put a Red Bull skin on the release version, Archie...
