There I was chilling out in the garden watching the wife working hard doing the gardening when hardly higher than twice the height of my house roars the BBMF Lancaster wheels down.
Once was great but 3 times it did a circuit over my head before landing (I assume) at my local airport (Southend airport Essex.

Might take a drive over there to see later

I had the same thing happen with me, only it was an F4F in beautiful shape. It flew over me twice, really low.
I have been meaning to go to that airport and see if I can get a closer look also. My son confirmed to me that it was housed in a hangar at a local airport, and flies in airshows.

I guess I need to stop procrastinating, and get over there.

Yeah! Why weren't you over there in time for the third circuit and landing?

Suffering with a stinking cold atm and i've got some great photo's of it from last 5 years in the air and on the ground plus takeoff and landing shots.

Weird thing is it seems to follow me, only last year i was driving in the middle of nowhere when I look up and it was flying over my head escorted by a spit and a hurri

Not a bad thing to be stalked by

I had a similar thing happen to me two years ago. I was in the garden with my parents, they were pottering about in the shed and I was listening to my iPod. I had just gone inside to get a beer when my Dad shouted me to come outside quick, there was something that I would love to see.
I went outside just in time to see a Spitfire and a Hurricane flying side by side over my house. My parents are hardly aviation enthusiasts but they were both in awe as they flew over, I just wish that I had a camera at the time.

P.S. Who else thought that this thread was about Fonzie.

    "Heyyyyyy"

I am regularly treated to the sound of a T-28 droning overhead and occasionally a T-6 or a PT-17.
