I think its fairly obvious that the "renegades" to which they refer are those pilots that escaped from the likes of Poland Czechoslovakia and France etc etc to provide vital experience to the unblooded and generally inexperienced young pilots of the RAF (later joined by the low in number, now very experienced RAF Pilots who had tried to help hold back the German advance through France, and also who did their best at Dunkirk).
As you say though, I dont seem to recall the RAF having inter squadron barney's with neighbouring continental pilots to fill in the gaps between the Luftwaffe attacks. It might provide an interesting angle on the campaign though (the enemy within and all that) if UBI Soft have incorporated it as an extra dimension to the battle ;-)
On second thoughts, no Ubisoft, I'm only kidding, dont take that as a suggestion.....dont....

Please try to remember that UBI is just the publisher. The content of Cliffs of Dover is the responsibility of Oleg Maddox/Maddox Games.

This is just a bad translation as stated above.

I doubt that they would be called "rebels" as they are still following the orders from thier last freely elected governments. Patriots maybe but the term rebel impliys that you have gone off the rails and are failing to obey orders. It probably means those Germans that want to fly Spitfires!

    Cheers!

Fair comment, I guess it depends what context you look at it in and how loosely you translate renegade. As said above, if it is a quote from direct from Oleg (for who I have only the deepest admiration and respect in what he has previously provided and achieved) it is probably intrepretation of our English Language which has to be one of the most confusing to learn and apply properly in the world, given the ambiguity of some of the words contained in it.

It probably meas that there is an option in the campaign to fly red planes on the blue side and vice versa.

On a positive note I can now go to the Ubishop .au and see cliffs of dover listed on the pre-orders without searching, but it still only the download.

Any step forward is an improvement

Except my holidays are over and I had to go back to work today!

    Cheers!

My guess about renegade is this, we all know Oleg said this game would be tunable to full sim and down to beginner, he also said he wanted to draw in non-simmers. I bet there are two types of campaigns, historically accurate and story based. We've seen the pic of the girl in the Spit, I bet there is a full on Hollywood type story in there for the non-simmer types with pilots who go rogue and girlfriends in France to fly to safety. Should be a hoot.
