My father had a PPSH-43 during his early days in the east german army (NVA)

He told me that they used it as chair when on guard duty.

You just put the barrel between your legs, (yeah its not wise to do that ) and carefully sit down on the mag drum. You still need to lean with your back against something though.

Of course this was strictly forbidden. Sitting while on guard duty and abusing the weapon for that aswell.

So someone kept watch for officers and the others made a little break.

When he got the AKS-47, he already was a motorist and could sit most of the day

I dont know what they try to sell you over there but ive never heard of it before

I've heard for those stories about PPSH-41.

    PPS-43 is Sudayev....

Today I had received another shippment!

Now, I don't want to pester you with this, but I have a slight feeling that there isn't all that much interest in looking pictures of someone elses collection.

If you are interested I'll post some pictures, otherwise I'll leave this thread to die of natural forum causes

Not at all!!! .....I think that what you mistake for disinterest is, in reality, the green fog of jealousy!!

    Keep the pictures coming!!

.....And be sure to post the videos when you get some of those guys "talking" again!

keep the pics comming ....in all my years of collecting weapons on and off ...the only weapon i really hated was a mosin nagant in 7.62x54 rimed i had 2 one was the full length and one was a cut down carbine version...they both were hatefull weapons ..i called them man portable antitank guns ...and if ya didn't hit what you shot at ..you would shure as hell scare the hell out of what ever you were shooting at the noise and muzzle flash alone would leave you in a daze for a few minutes after fireing the dam things...god they were hatefull weapons and if ya ran out of rounds you could use it as a club to beat someone to death with

    With pleasure.....

Bunkerrat may shiver at this first one

    Russian simplicity

    May I present MP-41 Haenel-Suhl

Next is a rather banged up MG-13

    Interesting solution for folding stock

As you can see a resemblance with MG-34 is only superficial

    American made Lend-lease Lee-Enfield No.4

A very nice example of Springfield

    KaR-98 with Zf-41/1

    ..and finaly

Now I know that not only Russians copied the gun but also Americans

    Hmmm.......

I was unaware of any U.S. production of that guy.

What markings lead you to believe that it is "Made in the U.S.A"??

    These....

    Oh...you were refering to Sturmgewer?

It's not the gun that was copied but the case ejector cover.
Very similar to what you find in M-16s and M 4s
