Does anyone know how this sim determines who receives credit for a given kill? I've always suspected it went to the last pilot who put bullets in the enemy plane before it crashed. However, that's just a theory.
Does anyone know how it actually gets calculated?

That is what I have always presumed as well. The AI are kill stealing bastages!

Yeah, last one that get's hits will get the kill. I believe, however, that if the pilot is killed or bails out then the kill goes to whom ever killed the pilot or forced him to bail out.

IRL you could share kills, it would be cool if the scoring of this sim could reflect that. IMO the scoring system in IL2 really promotes steal killing and the such and does not do much to promote teamplay. Maybe BOB will change this.

It would be better to keep the overall goal in mind - victory or death for the side you are fighting for. Scores only boost the individual ego over team spirit.
