I have now said this many many times but just in case you missed it the delay is NOT due to piracy concerns.Originally posted by Unstop4ever:
Here's the point, I don't pirate games, why do I get punished?
Now please as Rj has already asked rather nicely let’s stop the piracy discussion, it only leads to posters talking about why they think it is or isn’t ok and before you know it breaching the rules on the very topic leading to bans.
Last night, my mate and I finished Assassin's Creed 2 on his Playstation 3 copy, and my god... it's mindblowingly awesome. He also collected all the glyphs scattered around the cities, so we got some further insights into the story surrounding the world. If any of you are considering not buying this game anymore because of the late release, I urge you to reconsider. I promise you won't regret it.
The ending of the game had one of the most memorable scenes I have EVER seen in a video game, and it will definitely stay with me. What annoys me... is that I wasn't playing the game, I was watching it being played. It's disgraceful that Ubisoft can't keep their promises, and make no attempt to mitigate those that they break. You may design great games Ubisoft, but your customer service couldn't be worse.
I'm also going to copy/paste my previous post, in the dire hope that someone from Ubisoft notices it this time:

Obviously delaying a game by such a large time frame when a simultaneous release was promised has created a lot of understandable anger. I'm a huge fan of the first game and am so intrigued by this sequel because of the amazing conspiracy story being woven. I now have my two housemates playing the game on their consoles, while I have to wait for several months to play it myself. I wonder just how much of the story will be spoilt by then...
Regardless of how angry it makes us though, you certainly shouldn't be receiving the harsh tones that people are throwing around in this thread. Announcing something that is being improved for the PC version would surely help mitigate the damage though.
Assassin's Creed 1 was released with DX10 support on the PC for example, though famously didn't utilize any of the advantages it offered. Will AC2 be using DX10 to improve any of the game's visuals? PCs are now undisputably more powerful than the 3-4 year old consoles, and if AC2 could take advantage of improved lighting, greater draw distances on shadows and longer 'pop-in' ranges for grass and full LOD levels on trees and buildings, at least that would provide us with some semblence of a reason to wait patiently. We'd know that we're ultimately going to be receiving the more impressive package.
Waiting that much longer for the exact same product our friends are playing right now... I don't know, it just doesn't seem right. Not with the potential the PC team now has with these extra few months to polish it beyond the console version's levels...
Long post I know, but thanks for reading.
the game is broke they are fixing it so these extra few months will be spent making it run as well as the console version, if you expect them to add extra's and take it further than the console version your asking them to preform extra work and the extra work takes even more time meaning if you expect more stuff, expect the game to come a lot later than if they just concentrate on making the game work.the PC team now has with these extra few months to polish it beyond the console version's levels...
there is still a chance the game could come out early in January, but if people insist on them pushing in extras it will most defiantly be towards the end of march. the more people expect the more the devs have to do if they add it, the more the devs have to do means the longer it takes the game to come out.
half the ideas I have seen people want for the PC version are seriously unrealistic unless they want the game to get delayed even further, as the game isn't delayed to add extra features it's delayed to make it work.
Well too bad they could somehow pull it off with AC1 giving us 5 more side-missions. But I see they are going to "put their tongue to Microsoft's boot" to paraphrase a quote from Assassin's Creed 1.Originally posted by caswallawn_2k7:

That's exactly the point. We were promised a simultaneous release. The game shouldn't BE broken to begin with, since they were developing it in tandem with the other platforms. We have a delay for no other reason than incompetence. Promising a sweeter package, taking advantage of the extra graphical capabilities the PC version can offer, would be a justifiable reason to wait.Originally posted by caswallawn_2k7:

actually it's because you are playing on a system with pretty much infinite setups compared to a console that only has one. it is the things that make a PC a PC, that makes it a lot harder to make anything for if you want it to work consistently across all the different setups. We have a delay for no other reason than incompetence.
