This is just an idea, I know some people would really like it and some others would hate it.
First of all I want to make clear that I love playing at this game with all the details it has, realistic settings and planes specifications.
But the engine of Forgotten battles is great and I think it would be a shame just to use it with one single idea (WWII).
I would deffenetly buy a game with the FB engine and some futuristic, completly unreal aircrafts. The way of flying, dogfighting, could be exactly the same but in a completly new enviroment.
Just as an example lets think for a minute at Star Wars.
The maps of this game could be from the surface of different planets: Hoth, Tattoine, or even the Death Star.
Instead of flying an Spitfire you could be flying an X-wing, in the same way the IL-2 type 3 could be replace with the Y-wing and the B-25 with the Millenium Falcon. I repeat, I choose Star Wars just as an example of what could be possible to do, but I would really love to see a game completly original with aircrafts / spacecrafts that I never saw before. I´m sure the designers that work in FB are enought talented to create amazing stuff.
    Thanks

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Steve V you forgot that like a certain plane in FB/AEP the death Star could carry along its own escort. Who need 2 I-16's when you got a couple hundred Tie-fighters

I always have just enough fuel to arrive at the scene of my crash.

I have seen this pic posted here long, long time ago. Really impressive. But guys flying that thing must have really big problems regarding blackouts and similar G - related funny happenings. Artificial gravity will be handy IMO. But tough to modell.(BTW anyone remeber threads about flying pencils in TB3 and stuff?-imagine amount of whining in this case).

    MY BRAIN!! AAAARRRRRGGHHHHH!!!!!

Heh. Sorry. I think Star Wars should stay a Space simulator, IMO. THe X-wing probably flies like a brick, and the TIE has NO flight surfaces at all (unless you turn it sideways)

What I would like to see, though. Is a 1946 based game with all the planes that were experimental/not produced in time for WW2. Expecially all those German designs. I guess you could sort of do that now, I suppose. P60 & YP80 Vs. 109Z & Volksjaeger.

    Later,

The convergence on those machine guns, cannons and rockets is a little too close. I would think they would be on the order of a parsec or two.

I can already hear the whining about overmodelling and the cross bar on Vadar's fighter being too thick!

    Nice job!

    That was great!

But with all that damage, how could it still hold 100% fuel?

No way it could more than 50%, tops.
