The last two patrols i've done. I've been presented with red contacts on the map screen. no-one states ship spotted though. and i've sailed right up to and through them and there is nothing there??
In fact the last patrol I was sent on to AF47, I got nothing but 6 phantoms, no ships spotted at all?? Are they whales or icebergs or what??

You must remember that the contacts are moving. By the time you get there they are likly out of sight. You need to plot a course to intercept them.

When you hover your curser over the contact, look at it's bearing and speed. Pretty hard to intersect something moving "fast" and your 2 or more grids away from it. But if it is "medium" - 2 or 3 grids..I'd make a try at it. Your laffing when in an adjecent grid and teh contact is "slow"

If the contacts reported speed is medium, figure it is covering 17 kilometers every hour.
If it is slow, figure on 13(or slower).
When you click on a contact it tells you what time it was reported.
So if it takes you two hours to reach a slow contact, he is going to be 26 kilometers down the line.
Of course it is best to aim for where he will be, so I never head for the contact itself.
