I am currently building the type VIIB, U-47 cut away model by Revell. Seeing as this is so very basic, I'm adding bulkheads, bunks, compartments, auxiliary machinery. As well as deck heads etc as the whole thing seems slightly out of scale. The project is much harder than I first thought but I'm determined to complete it, (blohm und voss would've sacked me by now),but all pipework is nearly in place, cabling is next as well as battery banks fore and aft, compressed air cylinder, pumps. Any interior pics anyone here could show me, or any line drawings of this type of boat would be a huge help

my problem is somehow i got 3 modles going on at once now (USS. Lexington, KMS. Bismark, and a 1:18th scal p38) i dont know how this happened but i havnt worked on them in a few months just been to busy. however the last modle i finished was a type 7c that i have posted pictures of enyways i incurrage enyone to buy the submarines i like the large scal one you can do alot with the paint job mine was a 1:72 scal.
Believe it or not it's actually not finished, I need to drill more holes in the port side, and the cotton thread needs applying - I seem to have given up, not sure why thoughOriginally posted by VikingGrandad:
Goose - I seem to recall you posting some pics of your VIIC model whilst it was still a work in progress. Do you have a pic of the finished model?![]()
For all you modelers out there, you should check out the Sept. issue of Fine Scale Modeler magazine...there's an article in there about a guy who scratch built a cut-away Type VII. Used a 1/72 scale kit for a start and scratch built the interior pressure hull and all interior fittings. Just amazing work.
