Today was the day I gave up on Cardio Racer and all those rotten pendulums. After going through the bronze, silver, and gold full cardio boxing sessions, and suffering through the full Zen Stream session (with all same sensor issues as before), I switched over to the Michelle Bridges Cardio personal training.

It was pleasant having the sensor recognize most of my movements for something else other than boxing. It even recognized 99% of the leg curls.

Even though the program says it's "advanced", it seemed easier to me, but perhaps because most of the exercises are lower impact.

I still only burned about 250 calories total for everything above, but I'm inching closer to the next calorie achievement.

I still have 8 more days of Cardio Racer to go, i hate the jumping jacks which have 48 reps.

    But i'm a stubborn sob :-)

After i complete it, i'm thinking Men's Health Fat Loss.

Yeah jumping jacks and I aren't friends. Personally, they feel odd and I have downstairs neighbors. I'm always concerned they can tell when I'm using YSFE and being sloppy with it.

@bekkilyn: Great!! Congrats on moving forward!

I like the michelle bridges routine way better than cardio racer. I gave up on cardio racer after 6 days. I too found the "advanced" routine easier but I agree that it is probably because it is lower impact - I hate the pendulum and always had sore ankles if I tried to do it. Same with jumping jacks.

I won't even attempt to stick with one program for the whole 12 days anymore! I switch around every day so I get a more varied workout. The routines are the same every day anyway and you don't get anything for finishing a full 12 days of any one program.

I actually didn't mind the jumping jacks in Cardio Racer. I already do tons of them during warm-ups in my karate class, so they were probably the easiest out of that set of exercises for me. (Well...other than step touch!) Plus, the sensor rarely gave me any trouble for them.

However, I have gladly given up the jumping jacks for not having to do those horrible pendulums!

I'm going to enjoy the Michelle Bridges workout for a little longer, but I am no longer worried about halting before the 12 sessions are up. In fact, I intend to hop right to it in a few once my stomach has settled a bit more from dinner!

Thank you bekkilyn for the suggestion!! I was getting very frustrated with the cardio personal training sessions. About the only thing it would recognize properly was the Step Touch. (And even if you score 100% on that, you're still told "your legs need to be further apart next time"?!?) Dodges would rarely (if ever) sense my "arms together". Squat Punches would count only half my punches. Even on a simple exersises, Leg Curls, I was scoring less than 50%. I tried calibration, Kinect at eye level, various lighting, different angles/distances from the TV, etc. and nothing helped.)

After reading your post, I tried the Michelle Bridges Cardio program, and it was like playing a different game! Leg Curls and Punches were recognized with no trouble at all! The program moved much faster without all the tutorials, too.

It would be fantastic if the Personal Training Cardio could be updated to work as well as the MB Cardio. It seems like the potential is already there.

Wow, thank you so much for this post!
I had completely given up on Your Shape, and switched over to the Biggest Loser game. Today was my scheduled off day from that, and I saw this post, so I thought I'd give the Michelle Bridges a try. It was so much more like what I originally thought this game would be!
The reason I had given up on Your Shape was because I was completely stuck in what I guess is level two of the sculpting program. It is an endless series of lunges and sumo squats. Sometimes I could get recognized for my lunges, but I don't think I ever once got credit for a sumo squat, even when my thighs were well below parallel to the floor. So it would never pass me to the next level, and I'm stuck doing the same exercises forever. By the way, I tried every conceivable level of the squat, I have no idea what it was looking for.
So today I did the first two Michelle Bridges programs, and not only did it recognize all my leg curls (yay!), but it recognized all my sumo squats! And I didn't even have to get my thighs parallel to the floor to get the credit. This routine recognized all my moves, and didn't tell me I was out of rhythm unless I actally was out of rhythm!
Sorry, this turned into a bit of a rant, but I had been so frustrated up to this point.
I think this also explains why some people seem to love this program and aren't having trouble with recognition while others are so frustrated. It acts differently depending on which program you are doing. Of course, this begs the question of why the game would react so differently for the exact same exercises! This has to be a bug, which could easily be fixed.
Anyway, I will continue with the Biggest Loser as my main program, which I prefer for so many different reasons. But I will now be able to supplement with the Michelle Bridges, and maybe some of the other programs from Your Shape.

I'm glad this one is working out! I'm still enjoying the Michelle Bridges workout, so I haven't tried switching over try anything else yet.

I wonder if different devs worked on the various programs and that's why there are these differences between them, even for the same exercises?

I decided to give this a try today and it was a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed the Flicks.

I guess I won't be needing to look into Zumba Fitness just yet. With this, Cardio Boxing and Bollywood Dancing, I'll be moving and sufficiently entertained for a while.
