    Hi,

    the game works fine on my PC but Launcher.exe doesn't. It crashs on launch ("application failed to initialize properly") and so I can't set the resolution or just about anything else.

    Could someone tell me where the game stores its settings?
    DARE.ini seems like the obvious candidate but here its quite rudimentary, and if its in the registry then at least I can't find it.

    Is there anyone still alive in this forum?

    Could somebody who *did* set his/her resolution please just take a look at his DARE.ini and/or the Prince of Persia folder in his user directory and tell me if the resolution's specified anywhere?

    Mods? Anyone? And you wonder why nobody buys Ubisoft crap for the PC anymore. I was lured into it by the no-DRM decision but apparently that was lipstick on a pig.

    thx

    Sorry for the lack of replies, you can find the registry settings here:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ubisoft\Prince of Persia\1.0\Engine

    The ones you need are ScreenResolutionWidth and ScreenResolutionHeight.

    I've searched high and low for these settings. The default video setting look like CRAP on my PC. I used the post above and some other research to find out the following settings.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\UbISOft\Prince of Persia\1.0\Engine]
    "LNG_Language"=dword:00000001
    "ScreenResolutionWidth"=dword:00000400
    "ScreenResolutionHeight"=dword:00000300
    "VerticalSync"=dword:00000001
    "Antialiasing"=dword:00000001
    "ParticleEffectNumber"=dword:00000032
    "DegradedTextures"=dword:00000000
    "AspectRatioOverride"=dword:00000085

    With these settings, PoP looks FANTASTIC on my PC. Thanks for the pointer to that registry key!

    We're sorry to see you've been having problems with the .exe file on your system. If this has been an issue for you, please first make sure that your Windows OS and all of your drives have been updated to the latest version. Then, you'll want to perform the troubleshooting steps listed in this article which will walk you through how to disable any programs that may be running on the background of your system causing conflict with the game launcher. If this does not help you, you will need to submit your system files to our technical team directly so that we can find the root of the problem from there.

    In regards to changing the resolution, you'll want to go to the installation folder and find the launcher folder. There should be a file in this folder under the name "game settings" or something similar to that and if you double click this it should give you options to change the graphic settings for the game there.
