"Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!
But He loves you."
George Carlin
I totally disagree... Explanations are out there... ones that make sense.. it is just that many refuse to see or accept them for various reasons. Our existence, why we are here, how we got here and what we are to do while we are here has been explained to me clearly and is fully comprehensible. But that's me....Originally posted by huggy87:
A theist believes in a god. An atheist doesn't. Explaining our existence is beyond both beliefs at our current level of knowledge.

That's more or less the way I got acquainted with Carlin's work. I downloaded as much shows as I could find on Usenet.
Next week I'm in the US and gonna buy his 10 DVD box.
Threads about religion, evolution, creationism always good for lots of comments.
