Actually, I suspect that is the same reason why I have taken a sudden interest in these songs.
The interesting thing about Theme From A Summer Place, I awoke recently from a deep sleep and found myself insatiably driven to hear the song. I had the TV on with the volume low when I fell asleep and can only conclude that I must've heard a television commercial that played that song while I was sleeping, though that doesn't solve my recent interests in Burt Bacharach songs. I went out and bought a couple of his CD compilations. Chalk it up to the power of suggestion.

The Eagles are one of my favorites groups. I think I may just have every album they ever recorded, including their zenith, Hotel California. Their music helped to define an era. I honestly don't know anyone who doesn't (at least) like one or two of their songs.

We have got to make it here.

Hotel California Is a great album. Try and love again is one of the more perfect, underrated, under played songs of all times. I just down loaded that and last Resort and Hotel California to my MP3.

Then again, their sudden fame came from Walsh who as a membe of James Gang made this

No doubt, Joe Walsh was/is a very talented musician, but he was in no way, the creative force behind The Eagles. That distinction goes to Don Henley and Glenn Frey. Joe Walsh joined the Eagles in 1975 as a replacement for guitarist Bernie Leadon. The Eagles had already released their self-titled debut LP in 1972 with 3 Top 40 singles. They released their Desperado LP in 73 and their On The Border LP in 74.

Truer lyrics have never been written:

    And something from Mr. Frey:

Yeah, I wasn't to impressed with the Eagles until Walsh joined. And then, in my humble opinion, Hotel California is the only album they made worth anything.

    P.S. Smiley choices suck...
