World War II Submarines On Public Display | Forums

The purpose of this thread is to provide a centrally located place where those who are interested can find information about submarines that participated in World War II and are now on public display. The name of the submarine in bold letters will be linked to a website if there is one. The location where the submarine is located will also be posted. There will also be links to pictures of the submarine which have been provided by our forum members who have been able to visit these sites.

Yes, captgeo. As I mentioned, I expect to add to it as time goes by and that includes any WW II submarine on public display.

Great thread. It's nice to see all the boats in one place. Now I can map out my vacation to see as many of them as possible.

Great map Snakeeyez! Because of this thread, I found out that there was a boat on display in Baltimore, MD. It just so happens I might be heading that way in about a month and a half for a wedding in a town somewhere south of Baltimore. Looks like I need to stop by there and see the Torsk. We need to visit these boats so they can afford to take good care of them in order for them to be around for generations to come.

Absolutely! ......We want to create a photographic library documenting ALL of the boats that are on public display!!

Myself, .....I particularly want to see ANY picture that ANYONE has of the "Vesikko", .....The German Type II prototype that was once in service in the Finnish Navy; ....And is now on "land-based" display.
