I decided to fly an Il-2 the other day, and i was looking through the loadouts, when i stumbled on these green gas capsules...

Are they the only biological weapons? Are they biological weapons? Do they contain bottled flatus?

And in this game what are they best used for?

Cassettes, great against soft and hard targets like a convoy of tanks or trucks

This are chemical dispencer devices (VAP - Vilivnoy Avia Pribor). In the real life they could be filled with various liquid chemical substances, which could be used for various purposes (smoke screening, poisoning, etc.)
In the game they are filled with mix of water and green phosphorus.
When the mix is poured out, the pieces of phosphorus are being relesed from water and selfignite, burining very hot.
This was used against infantry, live stock and soft vehicles with great effectivness and with some success even against tanks.
