    Sorry to see that man.

    Skimping on yoiur PSU is just about the most dumb thing you can do when building a rig, it is the heart and lungs of your machine.

    A poor quality cheap PSU can also take other parts with it.

    You should buy a quality PSU that will not be taxed by whatever you do with your system, and has plenty of headroom, make you you have a strong enough 12V rail for your GPU - i'd say 34A+ for the 8800 series.

    PSU's degrade over time and become less efficient.

    Don't stress your PSU by asking it to run full tilt all the time either.

    I have a 750W PSU with a 56A 12V, do i need that? no, but i have every base covered for years to come, and my PSU is never even close to being stressed.

    Don't skimp on your PSU.

    People buy tons of those 450 watt, no-name, $29.95 PSU's and then complain when they fail. The bad thing is that a PSU can take out more than itself when it goes. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
