STARFORCE = A HUGE THUMBS DOWN
Well I was really looking forward to this game. I support the company and admire and respect the research in which goes into the games / simulations they make. Unfortunately Silent Hunter III comes bundled with StarForce. To those of you who have never experienced the head aches with this copy protection software be warned. It is absolutely terrible. Matter of fact if there was one copy protection removed from the face of the earth this would be my choice. Hopefully they will release the game without it in the future. I for one am not going to risk data integrity by letting StarForce infect my machine. It is the equivalent of a virus. Do yourselves a favor and do your research on StarForce before installing.

STARFORCE SINKS THIS GAME!!!
My review is a bit different, The game itself has its ups and downs but what really torpedos this game is the use in an INVASIVE software copy protection program known as STARFORCE!
Starforce weeds itself into your computer like a much like a virus, I say virus cause if you have any number of paid for legal use CD burning software like Alcohol 120% it is highly likely that the game itself will not work. I don't know about you but nowhere on the box did I see it say "Alcohol 120% renders this game unplayable on many computers.". Doubt my word look at Ubisofts own forums of people complaining about Starforce and its Invasive nature. Last I checked Ubi did not pay the 5000 dollars for my Falcon I did and I for one will not buy this product based on its use of a software program that invades my PC in such a fashion so MY rating is actually less than 1 but since 1 is the lowest I guess there you have it.

OVERZEALOUS COPY PROTECTION
Thanks for the heads up about the Starforce copy protection. There's no way in hell I'm installing that game on my rig. If you others are curious what Starforce does, do a Google search on 'Starforce copy protection'.

yea yea yea i know i keep posting things but do any of you wish there was a way we could make a petition of try to convince ubi to ditch starforce? ubi is a cool company i love their games but they gotta ditch starforce its amazing how many people refuse to buy SHIII because of Starforce
