That's why taking the load off your system by disabling a lot of the Windows nonsense that activates with start up is so important.
Thats not quite right, the game on your system is pulling 1.3gig of RAM as it can.
Not everyone will have 1.3 gig of ram running it, lowering a few settings will help but 1 gig of ram will run this game.
It's what i was using before i built my new PC.
It may be a little troublesome in places if your other PC parts are close to the margin too.
On a lighter note, and hopeing to move on.
I know this may not be the appropriate thread to ask this, but it does seem at this point I have every one's attention frequently.
Knowing you can play the game disc in, or out.
Does anybody here think it could have any bearing on the corrupt saved games issue, especially when saving.
Could disc in, disc out have any positive, or negative effects?
I maybe taking a shot in the dark here, and I havnt travelled far enough into the game to really form an opinion.
Any thoughts?

Tis better to ignore the Mocking Birds.
The written word lacks inflection and can quite often be misintrepreted, leaving the meaning of what was said to the perception of the reader.
If the reader was having a bad day, a simple joke could easily be perceived as a snide remark.
As for problems with running SH IV I say this...
SH IV is a very hardware intensive program, therefore, it might run fine on a minimum spec rig, or it might smack the wall constantly. Due to all the junk that most off the shelf manufacturers like to throw into your system. Usually these little programs, applets and utilities are started when you boot up the machine. Leaving you with severely reduced resources for the game to use.
Also, what many PC owners don't realize is that these things are machines and they wear out over time. Heat is the enemy. Caused by the friction created from moving electrons through the many small traces and wires that are on the motherboard and inside every component connected to it.
Bottom line is, If your rig has celebrated two or three birthdays, SH IV will work it to death. Even if you use the minimum settings in the game.
SH III murdered my Alienware system, which I expected. Because Alienware is the most overpriced collection of cheap junk on the market. I still have alot of the components from that turkey in my new system and I am currently waiting for alot of new components to arrive because SH IV finished them off.
My advice is to build yourself a new rig with enough muscle to run this software. If you buy off the shelf, you will get what the builder wants you to have. Do yourself a favor and build your own without all the extra gobbledy**** that robs your favorite apps of the resources they need.
I am in complete agreement with the "Build Your Own"¯ advice!
I haven't bought a "Brand Name"¯ desktop system in ten years: ....If you are looking for a specific set of hardware specifications, and if you don't care about the largely frivolous software bundles offered commercially, ...then "build it yourself"¯ is the most cost effective way to get where you're going.
Some have commented that they can't afford to build: .....But I have always found that with careful shopping, I usually come in under the cost of the comparable commercial systems. (The WORST I ever did was about 10% over!)
....But cost savings are really the smallest advantage "Build Your Own"¯ offers! The really HUGE point is that you know EXACTLY what is inside that box, ...And what you can expect from it!
Once you go "White Box Special"¯; ....You'll never go back!![]()

I guess it depends on your definition of 'running the game'. In order to enjoy this game the way it was designed, 1.3 GIGs is necessary. Will it run on 1 GIG...sure...the same way you gan drop a fuel grade in your car and get away with it....not a very nice ride though.
