Quoting an older thread with a fix :

    Not positive if it works.
Nice find mate, it actually does work.

I then decided to try your fix by after saving at the start of the second Haven mission then started a new game on the first map and just did the griffin egg quest again and nothing else, got the weapon and took it off, then equipped it again and did one fight and also went to an XP shrine.

After that, I saved the game and went to the Dynasty menu and equipped the sword to Kraal (any Might hero should work fine). Then I went into my main save at the second mission and took the old "glitched" Iron Feather off Anton and saved the game again, logged out to the main menu and reloaded that save game.

After that I equipped the newer version of the sword which I equipped to Kraal in the Dynasty menu onto Anton and saved the game again. I then logged out to the main menu and then out of the game entirely to allow Uplay Sync up the save files.

When that was finished I reloaded the game and found it still in the Dynasty menu and still on Anton in my second mission save file and still switchable from his Dynasty Weapon tab. So I just saved it again, logged out and deleted the temporary saves I used to quickly repeat the first mission egg quest and quit the game to let it Sync up again safely.

I did another full game reload just to check it again and it's all fine, so your fix does work and is indeed a nice find.
Should we have to do this to make sure we keep our Dynasty Weapons?

No, it's stupid and annoying for something that should be solid, some bugs should never go live on release, this is one of them.

Is it a suitable fix for anyone to use, even with basic understanding?

Yes, the fix is quite easy...doing it my way seems to make sure it fully works and keeps it unlocked, so it is the perfect fix until Black Hole/Ubisoft get it fixed properly in a patch.

My suggestion to everyone, even though the Necropolis and possibly other Campaign Dynasty Weapons seem to unlock fine, is to do this everytime you get a new Dynasty Weapon...just stop and do what was quoted in the second box above each time you get one and also before even picking up a Dynasty Weapon or finishing a quest that rewards one it is best to unequip any weapon you're currently using...better safe than sorry as they say.

Thanks for sharing it with us Arcane_Weapon, you're a champ for finding this. I will post any reports in future if it turns out to stop working.

Finally a discussion about the Iron Feather! I knew it was bugged. It ****ed me a great deal because I liked it more than the Sword of Griffin.

Unfortunately the fix doesn't work for me since in my case the Iron Feather doesn't even appear in the "Dynasty Weapons" subscreen of the Altar of Wishes. Well too bad, I had to dump it and keep going on with the Sword of Griffin.

When I encountered this issue by doing the first mission's egg quest for my first time I got this as well.

It had vanished from my Dynasty Weapons tab on Anton because I had the Sword of the Griffin equipped but only after I switched it out for the Iron Feather to use that newly obtained sword from the quest, and it also didn't appear in the Dynasty menu in the main menu area either due to this problem.

I believe the issue lies something to do with having a weapon on and the Iron Feather wanting to automatically equip (which it does, if you have no weapon on).

Most players will likely equip the Sword of the Griffin straight away on Anton at the start of the campaign even though the developers likely assume they might not, because every campaign has at least one weapon in it dedicated for the player to pickup and use on that family member main hero.

It seems to me that it's a little fickle when it comes to this quest because of that reason, I found the best result on my second run through the first map just for the egg quest was to not equip any weapon and just get every unit on the map that joins you before the bridge, cross over and go underground and get the eggs then up to hand them back to the griffins and do what I quoted in my starting post above.

After I did it, I haven't had it glitch on the hero or Dynasty Weapons tab or "not appear" in the Dynasty menu at the main menu, and I am currently doing the second map of Anton's campaign with it still working fine.

My best advice is to try exactly as I've said, and keep trying until it works...perhaps for some it's a little fickle, for others like me or Arcane_Weapon it's not...but it's the only current workaround we know of.

So apart from the prior post, I would add that before getting a Dynasty Weapon, unequip what you're currently using and then do the workaround to hope for the best result of avoiding any kind of glitch or bug and keep retrying if it fails.

Much like the Week of Disease/Plague negative unit production bug, it's something that seems to be avoidable with a little trial and error.

Thanks for the heads up, use the workaround here exactly as it's been quoted for this other sword and let us all know how it turns out.

I hope so too JargrBurgr, but in the meantime...if you get the chance and are willing, try this whole workaround on that sword from the second Sanctuary map and let us know if it works.

The more confirmation we get about how effectively it works will benefit the whole community until the developers patch it properly with a fix.

I have this problem with the Blade of Binding from last Inferno campaign. I noticed I didnt have it after completing the campaign. When I restart the map and save after getting the sword, it is still not appearing in My Dynasty so I can't assign it to a Might hero.

I tried unequiping my main weapon (I am magic so I can't equip it), I removed the weapon from Veyer. I equipped the weapon and gained exp for it before saving. One time I didnt even got the sword because the game recognized I had it but I still dont have it in my Dynasty
