If updates are made to Uplay at a server level, then those changes can apply to multiple platforms. But you will need to check with support for more details on exactly what they meant when they mentioned a new upgrade. If you contact them for clarification they should be able to give you more information.
I've recently been replaying Assassin's Creed Revelations single and multiplayer in order to obtain the rest of my trophies on my PS3. I decided to work on multiplayer first as those can take the longest depending on what criteria needs to be met. I'm able to get to the main menu of the multiplayer, enter a session, play until the end... and then get disconnected. What makes this more infuriating is that I play to the end of the round, and my character just stands there as I hear the finishing music, but no score, no extra windows pop up. Then: my screen goes black and I get a message that says "The Assassin's Creed Revelations server is not available at this time". SOMETIMES I am able to immediately log back in, but all of my previous kills, score, XP, and accolades are not registered.
Yes. EVERYTHING I just did was not recorded. Which means I didn't gain XP in order to get the "Reach level 20" trophy I am still working for, which is the most important to me. I'm still level 2 only because I managed to get lucky to finish a session and it didn't disconnect on me. Meanwhile, my other games: Brotherhood, AC3 and AC4 have had no problems connecting to multiplayer. Just this game. It has been three years since launch and this is still a problem. Completionist tendencies aside, I've read the forums on here and others about this very same issue, and we are just unable to play it. From my first play through, Revelations was my least favorite of the series, yet I'm replaying it for the completion of the trophys.
If this is any indication of future Ubisoft games regarding multiplayer or for the upkeep of their servers, I may just stop getting Ubisoft games in general, as well as letting people know of the poor quality of work that has been happening. I am a very patient person, so I will try to keep working with this problem... for now. There comes a time when I will cut my losses and not bother with this anymore.
Now, onto the problem: I have a stable internet connection, checked my router, modem, and Playstation multiple times. I have a wireless connection on my console and it has never had a problem with connectivity. Only when the internet service itself was down. My NAT was at optimal settings and my online experience has always been Good. I have yet to contact Ubisoft Tech Support, as I wanted to see if there was a solution online first. I pray this problem will be resolved, otherwise I'll be sitting with a game that is not 100% complete, and instead of my faults, it will be a constant reminder of why we have such blind faith in a company that won't always fix their problems for the merchandise they produce for the general public.
