Hey, I ordered all the parts the other day, supposed to arrive on Thursday:
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego core
Asus A8N-E
1GB (2x512MB) DDR400 Crucial Ballistix high performance RAM 2-2-2-6 (I get two dimms because my motherboard supports dual channel RAM, so this is actually faster than getting a single 1GB dimm)
Hitachi 250GB 7200rpm SATA II harddrive
ATI X800GT PCI-E video card
Antec 400W Smartpower 2.0 power supply
Thermaltake super duper copper blah blah blah fan and heatsink
and I'm keeping my old case, my NEC DVD+-RW, the new motherboard has onboard LAN and onboard sound, so don't need those.
Anyway, I am getting all of these upgrades for about $830 total after shipping and everything. Would be less if I sold the stuff I'm replacing, but I'm donating it to a friend in need.
What do you guys think? I'm sure glad to finally be able to turn all of the settings to high on my games, lol.
But ****, my friend will have the best deal, I'll be donating my Asus A7N8X motherboard, ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, Sound Blaster Live! Value, AMD Athlon XP 2400+, and my power supply, so all she has to buy is a case, harddrive, an optical drive, keyboard and mouse, and that's it, she has a complete computer. She has a monitor already, so basically she's going to get an aged, but fairly decent, computer for less than $200...
Dammit, how come I don't get helped this way? lol
