Now that's an impressive shot for a civilian satellite. No idea how its on that kind of angle. Guess they don't do it from overhead, but more tangental.

    Damn, Iowas are beautiful ships.

Both. Overhead and tangental is possible. Depends solely on weather conditions, cloud layer etc.

Great shot. Could be hard to torpedo the ships in the middle

Some screenies from the brand new , still fresh and hot dynamic campaign update (1.019) for Rise of Flight

Many cool features from Red Baron3D are back in the sim world

    Field modifications. Pure hightech

In front of the pilot, you can glimpse an Aldis refractor-type collimator scope sight. It was a popular trophy taken from downed british airplanes.

Just a heads up for anyone that missed it. The latest RoF demo is out, and it has no time limit, no restrictions on missions etc. Only two flyable aircraft (they have to make money somehow...), but as generous an offer as you are likely to see for a long time.

It runs beautifully on my new PC - maxed out graphics, the lot. All I have to do now is learn how to dogfight, and then resist the temptation to download every plane. Though I've got to get me a Camel, and a Fokker Triplane, and one of the heavy bombers, and, and, ... I may have to cut back on luxuries for a bit - like food...

My ultra-short landing run technique seems to work in RoF too (and without brakes...):

That Spad has serious visibility problems. I think I'll stick with the Albatross for now. Much prettier anyway. I seem to be getting the hang of these WWI planes ok, apart from one minor issue: it's 'arm guns', 'pull trigger' not 'pull trigger', 'curse', 'arm guns', 'find target again', 'pull trigger'. Doh!

LASIK was uneventful...very easy and could see almost 100% the day after.

The USS NC is getting a facelift on the starboard bow as we speak:
