He Silent, remember the discussion we had about the Zapfenstreich ?

Someone posted the Zapfenstreich in front of the Reichstag (from which i took the pictures back then) on youtube.com Or better said the first 4 minutes.

It was made as a part of the celebrations for the 50th birthday of the Bundeswehr.

I dont know if you have a subwoofer connected to your laptop but you should turn its volume up a bit.

    Zapfenstreich

VERRy impressive, if we tried that in our army somebody would get hurt!

The Silent O had to be Adjutant once for a Brigade change of command...I had to bark off commands (this was in Bamberg by the way). Although I was not the Brigade Commander, it was pretty impressive to have all 500 Soldiers react to your commands...

...I had good training from my jumpmaster days by having to yell commands over four C-130 engines...

    "20 Minutes"

    "10 Minutes"

    "Get Ready"

    "Outboard Personel -- Stand UP"

    "Inboard Personel -- Stand UP"

    "Hook Up"

    "Check Equipment"

    "Sound off for Equipment Check"

    "1 Minute"

    "30 seconds"

    "Stand in the door"

    "GO"

It's funny how some of the simile's slightly resemble the hand and arm signals for the commands...

    Those were the days....

I with you brother...if something was wrong with it like it was on fire, but then some things just don't make sense?

Ahh, I dunno about torchlight parades either. Gives me the willies.

Yep, it was much fun with the "K¶niglich Bayrischen Gebirgmarine". The "Berittne" is in Bad Reichenhall, i've been in Mittenwald. The only "J¤ger"-unit with the full equipment and, as result, one of the most stupid order of the whole Bundeswehr. Since we had armored carriers, every soldiers had to spend a certain amount of time inside, therefore, if beer or other stuff was needed, we went on shopping tour with the transports.
