GWX developers have stated on more than one occasion that making an uninstaller for their mod is impossible. They know more about the feasibility of a making a GWX uninstaller than you do.

Insult you? I'm sorry you took my criticism of what you said as a personal insult.

Oh, and I think you meant to say "Queen of Sheba". (did you say something about "homework"? )

To be fair, you did more than simply "state a fact" - you stated that "For this day and age it's a bit rediculous(sic) that I should have to uninstall the entire game..." That's merely your opinion, not a fact - and one which, to me, makes you sound ungrateful and lacking in empathy for the work modders do (which is not the same as an insult). That was the point of my post, which was evidently lost on you...

Yes, as you say, most mods can be uninstalled - but not ALL mods! Would I like an uninstaller for GWX? Perhaps, but re-installing once in a while is not a problem for me as I have a back-up of the stock install of SH3. Hopefully you will take Jimbuna's advice and do the same next time.

A quick search on this forum or Subsim would show you it's a fact that the problem you are attempting to highlight is one that very rarely gets mentioned by other GWX users. To be clear: it's not a problem for the vast majority of people!

Regardless if it's a mass problem or not, it's a problem.

Yes it's a problem. So what? My point was that you cannot expect mod developers to undertake more work, just because you (and you alone) think it's necessary.

You are over-reacting to fair criticism. I was hoping you'd calm down!

Yet again you feel the need to resort to insults and name-calling. In my initial response to you, I gave you the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to redeem yourself - but now you're just embarrassing yourself!

If you can't be bothered to respond with something that (a) makes sense, (b) is true and (c) is well reasoned - then please don't waste your time posting again. You're not adding any value to this forum and most likely never will.

Since I alone built the installer?
You should address me and me only.

I look at the Thousands of users of GWX.
I read thier requests, thier system specs,
thier knowledge of computers, and more then you
could ever wrap your tiny mind around.

You look for self satisfaction, then fail to read simple explinations.

MOST of the users of GWX do not have TOP END systems.

    Hard Drive space is limited.
THEY understand there is no going back because they did thier
    Homework.

I'll not clutter up those users Hard Drives
with the files needed to un-install when
a wipe and re-install is ACTUALLY qiucker!!

    I KNOW!!
    I built both versions!!

And I'm not some 15 year old kid Mate!
I'm 51 today and have been into Computers since
    my first Heath Kit system!

Oh. I also owned and sold the FIRST Internet Access Service in my area!

And made a Health chuck of change!

What have you done except whine?

    Hi Mate,

GWX is designed to run on the standard system specs for Stock SH3.

However, the better your system, the better it runs.

It does change Game play in many ways.
The Game is no longer a Cake Walk!
    Infact?
It's more of a Simulation with GWX!

You will need to think hard about what you are doing to survive.

    The graphics are better,
    more units then Stock,
    and many surprises await you.

The latest version is around 1.4 Gigs in size.
And has a wicked cool installer.
(If I do say so myself.)

    Hi All!

New to this, so please excuse me from being a bit stupid!
I have followed all the instructions to download GWX, but I am having a few problems.
1 When I tried to download a message box comes up saying 1. Find a program to open with 2 .save 3. Cancel.
So the obvious thing I thought was option 1. This sent me to the net telling me to download WinZip. So I did!

After all that the message box comes up again saying 1. Open with WinZip 2. Save to WinZip 3. Cancel

Bearing in mind that I am still quite new to all of this I went through and opened and saved all the bits and pieces and nothing seemed to happen....... Am I supposed to do something else?

Or am I doing it completely wrong?

    Cheers

    Try this:
    1."select" all files
    2. "left click"

    A dialog box opens

    3. Choose option "Extract to GWX 3.0"

If there is no "Extract" option try "Unzip to".

    Hi Again

Tried that with no luck! There is no "Extract" or "Unzip to" options.

What is actually supposes to happen, is it the same as downloading the patch 1.4 update?

Getting very frustrated with it!!! Any other options.

I see that some people have managed to save them to disk, is there any chance of getting my hands on one of them?

    Cheers
