    Hi ****

Because of your location I have forwarded on your details to one of the team (TarJak, Sydney)

I reckon you will receive the disc quicker that way.

Please refrain from continuing to offer payment, I am unaware of anyone ever having been asked to cover the cost of postage and a DVD disc.

    SINK EM ALL!!

I want to thank the GWX team for their excellent work on the mod. Here is my story: I bought SHIII many years ago when it first came out totally thrilled with the idea of playing it. I had a 2003 Sony Vaio desktop with a P4 3.2GHz CPU, ATI Radeon X1650 vid card, 2GB memory, WinXP - powerful specs all of which should have been more than enuff to run the game. Even the game said so. Game installed OK but crashed to black a minute or so after loading. Never could get to naval academy much less a mission. I would go to museum every time in order to test my latest troubleshoot fix and it would always crash after a few seconds. My entire computer would crash to black with weird buzzing throbbing static coming out of the speakers. Then I would have to restart my computer with the on button and reboot. I did everything I could to get the game to run; spoke with UBI, went to forums, took it to the tech guy at work. Nothing worked. I even bought another one on ebay thinking the CD was defective. Same problems. I could have learned a new language with the time I spent trying to get SHIII to play on my computer. It drove me insane. Finally gave up and put the game away. Then a year ago I moved out of the country and bought an inexpensive laptop to use while my desktop was in transit. It was an Acer Aspire 4520 I bought it for $460 refurbished online at Tech for Less. It has a pretty good feature set for such a cheap laptop but I held out no hope it would ever run SHIII so I never bothered to try until recently. It has an AMD Athlon TK-55 dual core processor and a Nividia GeForce 7000M vid card and Vista Home Premium and a 14.1" screen. Well I loaded it up a few days ago and damn if it didn't run the game!! Its specs must be inferior to my desktop. But I downloaded GWX Gold and it still runs. Damn! I did the first two parts of the Naval Academy with no problems. I am euphoric! Well, I know a lot of you have moved on to SH4 and SH5 soon-to-be but for me SHIII is a brand new game! I hope I am not speaking too soon and it starts to crash.

Anyway, I have two questions: I like the larger size compass but it keeps popping out from the right and getting in the way when I am panning with my mouse. How do you keep it in place until you want it? Also, my mouse arrow in the game is kind of loose and sloppy and overshoots the icons I want to click and slows down my reaction speed. I don't know how else to describe it. It is harder to control and less precise. Is there any way to fix that?

Again my utmost thanks to the GWX team and you SHIII aficionados who are keeping this great game alive.

Great news and kind words.....welcome to GWX Kaleun

You might want to go into your laptops Control Panel where you can access the settings for slowing down the movement rate of your mouse.

I suspect that will also help prevent it travelling off right of your screen and bringing up the compass.

Is there any way to remove the large compass at the right of the screen? In the heat of the action when I am frantically panning, it pops up and gets in the way. thank you very much.
