It finally worked! I also installed it in a different root directory. I walked away and it seems the first time it took a long long time to start. Now it seems to load just fine. Thanks!

Could someone fill me in on the whole Beacon thing? I get message traffic that says transmit beacon. How do I do that? How do I pick up other beacons? Thanks

Hi MeinTotalausfal,

Many of the radio messages in GWX were taken from real life communications with/from U-boats and exist in-game for the sake of immersion. There are no functional beacons in SH3 so it isn't something you have to worry about doing. (Though I wish we did have to use them.)

It would appear that the message you received related to an order by BdU to a given boat to broadcast beacon signals to form a wolfpack attack in real life... or to transmit weather data periodically back to HQ (Befehlshaber der U-boot)
