I loved it. Hail, hail the Ruptured Duck. What a shot. Loved the action report too. Had no idea your former hydrophone operator was an Ohio Express fan. Don't forget to open your sock drawer after a while - all the socks will be incited to riot, led by you know who. And beside, cookie needs the bayonet back. Something about sticky dumpling soup to celebrate the sinking.....

In the spirt of the Ruptured Duck Miracle Shot, I attempted something similar last night. I detected a Pyro ship 15000 meters out. Could not get a lock on (autocalc on) untill around 13500 meters. Set up 2 steam mag torps at 10 meters and patiently (HAH) waited ..
At 12000 meters (give or take 25) I fired the two torps, around 7-10 seconds apart, and waited. 10 minutes!!! later, they hit dead on target! By that time, I had closed to 8000 meters or so, but the torps *were* fired at 12k...wish I had thought to get a screenie.
Ok, so it was not the Illustrious (only got 6780 tons) but *I* still think it was cool!
Now, on to Alexandria, and see what I can find there!

Have you ever suggested to Socko that Fame and Fortune could be his, if he ghostwrites something alond the lines of "A Day in the Life of a Sock?"
sort of a complilation of his war patrols ... hand him a typewriter with nothing but red ink, should keep him happy for a little while, glorifying his prowess as Captain of the Ruptured Duck
(and would give us access to all the stories!)

I think Socko would prefer to be given command of the Deck gun instead of a typewriter lol

Just got the Rodney, once again she had no main deck guns, fired off 4 torps for 34000 tons

Well done. My favorite Quote:
"...I was about to ask him where I was supposed to have put them; ....but I stopped in time, realizing that I didn't really want to hear the obvious answer." Brought a smile to my face.
I am working on the last noob patrol before I close out SH3 and transition to SH4. It should be out sometime this week. I will also be posting in the April Short story competition if it comes to pass. Keep hunting. Yeet.
